The congregation of Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Hyde Park recently began its year-long celebration of the church's 60th Anniversary with its Fall 2002 Rally Day. The congregation commemorated the beginning of its seventh decade with a dinner dance at the New Hyde Park Inn followed by a Special Service of Celebration. The congregation was graced with the presence of two of its former ministers at the Friday night celebration. Pastor and Mrs. Kortrey who now live in Woodstock, New York, and Pastor and Mrs. Teichmann now of Center Tuftonboro, New Hampshire, made the trip to attend the celebration.
