Elaine Courtney, who lives in New Hyde Park with her husband Jim, was named "Ronald McDonald House of Long Island Volunteer of the Year" for her enthusiasm and her willingness to assume a leadership role in her four years of service to the House.

Village Announces Progress of Railroad Station House Project
At the last meeting of the Village of New Hyde Park Trustee Robert Lofaro announced that work on the LIRR new station house is moving along. He also announced that the new fence, run the entire length of the track in the village will be installed on a four inch curbing. The time frame for the installation is expected to be in October of 2002. Trustee Lofaro also thanked New York State Senator Michael Balboni, again, for his assistance with the LIRR project.
