Hand Rolled Bagels Tigers vs.
Capell & Vishnik Braves
On Saturday April 20th, the Tigers and Braves had a great game. The Tigers had great hitting by Matthew Nilsson, George Papadopoulos, Kimon Papadopoulos, Vincent Patrey, Matthew Theodoropoulos and Skyler Chin and fantastic fielding by Nicholas Artusa, Mitchel Calandra, Matthew Esposito, Thomas Fitzgerald, Thomas Kemmet and Michael Kemmet.
The Braves were equal to the task, Haddi Ahmad, Chris Cataldo, Jonathan Cioffi, Evan Clark, Brandon Fernandez and Brandon Ianiro were making all the plays in the field, while Tommy Labruna, Michael Lopez, Daniel Orlik, Brennan Scanlon, Nicholas Winkhart and Marc Yuricic showed their hitting skills. A special thanks to all the parents who helped out.
F & F Roofing Indians vs.
Citibank Rockies
The Indians and Rockies played to a tie on Saturday. The Indians showed great hitting by James Cotumaccio, Anthony D'Ammassa, Anthony DiMarco, Justin Kopp, Frank Mina, Chris Sacino and Andrew Seger, and Joseph Tricarico, Charlie Troia, Jonathan Uy, Brian Wood and Michael Zornberg flashed the leather in the field. The Rockies were not intimidated, however, they came right back with excellent hitting by Sam Aziz, Anthony Cacchioli, Steven Cacchioli, Brendan Deery and Cian Fitzgerald and slick fielding by Kenneth Krach, Sean O'Shea, Aaron Roper, Justin Simoncini and John Young.
La Vera Pizza - Lady Giants
The girls Instructional team was at it's best on Saturday. Their skills were once again on display for all to see. Sensational fielding by Alanna Fichtel, Samantha Gugliotta, Lauren Lynch, Caitlin Mahon, Maggie McHale and Brianna Patrizi. Hitting stars were Katie Pesiri, Erin Rivera, Brianna Simeoli, Alexandra Taylor, Kiera Ward and Victoria Yee.

Stationery Athletics 17 vs.
State Bank of LI Padres 16
Opening day was a dandy as the New Hyde Park Stationery Athletics edged the State Bank of Long Island Padres 17 to 16. All the players looked sharp in their uniforms and played great too! The Althetics powered by Michael Ring and Austin Ward who had 3 hits each and fantastic outfield play by Domenick and Domenico Fazzolari. Matt Ryan and Troy Driscoll also contributed with 2 hits each. Both teams gave 100 percent and a good time was had by all.

F&F Roofing Rangers 16
Great game by all the Rangers in a close game with the Cubs. Nick Perrone hit the Rangers first home run of the season. The offense was led by Chris Ferlazzo, Paul Morrow, Alex Katz, Andrew Blumenson, and Mark Fuller all with 3 hits each. Thomas Jaklitsch, Billy Stevens, John Anthony DiMaria, Michael Barry, Andrew Korpacz, and Joseph Lee all had two hits each. Great game Rangers!!

The opening game for both teams was very impressive. The Cubs played well and hard. It was obvious that all their practices paid off. Adrian, Alex, Michael and Angelo had great hits to get on base. Denes and Brandon did a great job in the catcher's position. We had great defensive plays by Luis, Andy, James and Hasnain. Thank you, parents, for your help and commitment to the team. Get better quick to Liam, who is on the DL. We missed you on the field but welcomed your spirit on the bench.

Terrific Opening Game by the Greenpoint Savings Bank Dodgers! Great hitting by Robert and Joseph Dimonte, Max Nero, and Michael Zovich. Ryan Gaitan and Kevin Kempsky did great catching behind home plate. Good fielding by Brian Pelan, Christopher Rivera, Mark Thomas and Erasmo Trioila. Awesome Grand Slam by Christopher Rocco. All of the Greenpoint Savings Bank Dodgers played well. Let's keep up the team spirit boys!

Welcome to Opening Day 2002 for the Martin Oil Mets. Game one featured the Martin Oil Mets against the Greenpoint Dodgers. Both Teams made some great fielding plays and timely hits. The Mets were led in the field by Daniel Luchino, Joseph Murphy and Mark Roantree. Key hitting was provided by Patrick Theodoropoulos, Daniel Chiofolo, Austin Vogelsberg, Newton Tsang, Tyler Cohen and Stephen Eranvic. Good all around play by Marc Giovanello, Elijah Diaz and Christian Mangru was the key to their teams success. All the boys had a great time and the fans were in for a great treat this night by a great game. Till next game.....Let's go Mets!

The star of the game for the Cellini Lodge Braves was John Leva! John had three singles and a great defensive play today versus the State Bank of Long Island Padres. Great game John!! John Leva had Brian R., Brendan S., Vinny L., Matt D. and Stephen K. backing him up with great hitting, while the great fielding by Ben T., James K., Austin L., Laiam Q. and Anthony P. helped to make it a great game. Go Braves!

Caruso's Hair Styling Yankees
The Greenpoint Savings Bank Dodgers played a great game against Caruso's Hair Styling Yankees. Great play by Christopher Rivera catching a line drive back to the pitcher's mound denying a base hit. The Dodgers are continuing to hit the ball hard. Good hits by Brian Pelan, Chris Rocco, Mark Thomas and Erasmo Trioila. Ryan Gaitan and Michael Zovich did a terrific job in the catcher's position. Terrific fielding plays by Marty Cass, Robert and Joseph Dimonte, Max Nero, and Kevin Kempsky. Good job Greenpoint Savings Bank Dodgers! Let's play ball and HAVE FUN!

Dr. Barbaro Cubs 22
In a nail biter right down to the last out the Dr. Barbaro Cubs slipped by the New Hyde Park Stationery Athletics 22 to 21. The power of Joe Carbone, contributing a home run and 2 other hits! Andrew Pugliese made fine plays in the field and also got 3 hits. Brandon Martinez played a solid outfield and his speed scored 3 runs. Michael Nori got 2 hits and played a good outfield. Nicholas Driscoll and Joseph Kotarski played spectacular defense and pounded out 2 hits each. Congratulations to the Cubs for a great game!

Another great game by both teams. The Cubs continue to make the plays and get the hits. James, Luis, Paul and Denes helped get the runs in while Adrian, Alex and Angelo showed us their catching expertise. Brandon, Hasnain, Michael, and Andy made great plays in the field. Liam, still on the DL, helped coach third base and cheered on his team. Great game boys!

In a rain shortened game the Martin Oil Mets battled the F & F Roofing Rangers to a 12 to 12 tie. Both teams show tremendous hitting abilities. The Mets were led by Patrick Theodoropoulos who was 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 runs scored and 4 rbi. Patrick had plenty of help today as the rest of the team chipped in. Newton Tsang 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored, Danny Chiofolo 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi, Marc Giovanello 3 for 3 with 1 rbi, Danny Luchino 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi, Joey Murphy 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi, Elijah Salmon-Diaz 2 for 2 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi, Christian Mangru 1 for 3 with 2 rbi and Austin Vogelsberg 1 for 2 with 1 run scored. The Cubs and the Padres played a tough game in the mud. Both teams had great plays and big hits. The Cubs loved playing at Tully Field with real dugouts. Paul, Adrian, and Alex made the catcher's position look easy by making great plays at the plate. Andy, Michael, Brandon, Hasnain, and Luis had some great hits and helped drive in the runs. Denes, James, and Angelo fielded some great plays. Thank you to all the parents for your help. Keep up the good work Cubs.

Great shutout pitching for the Knights of Columbus #2852 Giants by Joey Faller, Nick Calandra and Robert Abballe. Big hits in game for Nick Calandra, Tom La Maida and Joey Faller. Great all around game for the Giants in a total team effort against a solid Nuzzi Fuel Twins team.

T.F. O'Brien Cardinals vs.
Knights of Columbus #2852 Giants
On the hottest day of the year so far, the Knights of Columbus #2852 Giants were sizzling, but the T.F.O'Brien Cardinals hung tough with them until the 5th inning when the Giants bats awoke. The Cardinals sent Robert Young, Louis Simione and Christian Theodoropoulos to the mound, all pitched well. The Cardinals outfield defense fell apart in the final 2 innings but overall the team played well. Hitting stars for the Cardinals were David Luchino, 1 for 2 with a walk, double, rbi and 1 run scored, Andrew Goldstein, 1 for 2 with a walk, rbi and 2 runs scored and Bradley Reider, 1 for 1 with 2 walks, rbi.

T.F. O'Brien Cardinals
Great game played by the Knights of Columbus #2852 Giants over the O'Brien Cardinals. Home runs by Luis Gaitan, Robert Abballe and Joey Faller. Big hits by Nick Calandra, Dylan Clark, Alex Rivkin and Harris Rivkin. Good fielding by Andrew Stone, Pat Mc Gonigle, Robert Baghai and Anthony Faller. Great all around game for our catcher Tom La Maida.

Elks Club Indians 5 vs.
Meldon Silverman Brewers 2
This was another well executed game by all the Indians players. Brian Lacker pitched 3 perfect innings to help seal the win with help from defense stars Jimmy Hundermark and George Hatzioannides. Eric Dittmeier was also solid behind the plate. The offense was led by John Fitzgerald who had a triple and a single and Tom Roulis who hit a home run and also singled.

Meldon Silverman Brewers 2 vs.
Elks Club Indians 5
The Meldon Silverman Brewers lost a tight game to the tough NHP Elks Club Indians 5-2. The Indians jumped out to a 5-0 lead but the Brewers scored two runs on clutch hits by Zach Aziz, Adam Gottlieb, and Thomas Verdino. The Brewers inched closer in the late innings but their rally was stopped by great Indian's pitching. Joseph Morana and Stephen Ambrosio pitched four great innings and were helped by good defensive fielding plays by Douglas Fabian, Stephanos Nicolelis, Robert Thomas Perry Stein and Harrison Marder. Nicholas Gugliotta called a great game as catcher. Good try Brewers!

Stationery White Sox 6 vs.
F & F Roofing Diamondbacks 4
On a beautiful April evening the N.H.P Stationery White Sox defeated the F & F Roofing Diamondbacks. This close contest was decided in the third inning when Sam Root drew a two out walk and brother Jared hit a two run homer to break open a tie game. Stephen DePietto and Frank Pate turned in feature pitching performances for the White Sox. Clutch hits were delivered by Will Rezin, Tom Campbell, Stephen DePietto, Frank Pate, Dillon Rozier and Paul Goebel. Congratulations to Diamondback sluggers Dylan Brolly and Tom Salvatico for hitting home runs and to Steve Curran for a sparkling pitching performance. The White Sox showed some improvement from their first game and promise to work hard and have fun. Great game White Sox!

Royal Waste Service Phillies 3
In a rain shortened game, the Rockies held on to win 4-3. It was a tight ball game with both teams playing very well. Chris Kelly pitched well holding the Phillies to one run. David Leibell provided the offense with 3 runs batted in. The Rockies played excellent defense, with JD, Mike, Patrick, and Brian playing well in the field.

vs. Devane & Groder AAL Marlins 11
The T.F. O'Brien Cardinals battled the Devane & Groder AAL Marlins in a magnificent game. The Marlins came from behind scoring the final run in the last inning. The Cardinals had strong pitching from David Luchino (2 innings) and Louis Simione ( 3 innings). Hitting stars for the Cards were, Bradley Reider who went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 rbis and David Luchino who went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored, 2 walks and a 3 rbis triple. Nicky Tornatore had an excellent day as catcher and also had a strong game at the plate going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbis. Andrew Goldstein went 1 for 4 with 2 runs scored 1 walk and 2 rbis. The defense was led by Chris Theodoropoulos, Eric Weinstein, Johnny Mahon, Mike Ali, Erik Schmid and Ace Goldstein. Great game Cardinals and Marlins!

Opening day for Dr. Onorato Dermatology's Pirates vs. Pace Pharmacy's Blue Jays was a tough 11-8 loss. The game saw plenty of hitting and lead changes. Strong pitching by Mike Jandovitz ( 6 K's ) and John Weitzel ( 3 K's ). Hitting was led by James Bicierrro with a home run, Chris Sanchez ( 2 hits ) Anthony Perrone ( 2 hits ) Paul Conte ( 2 hits ) Robert Fauci Jr. ( 1 hit ) and Mike Fiskin ( 3 RBI double ).

vs. Delizia Restaurant's Tigers 5
In their second game the Dr. Onorato Dermatology's Pirates showed that the team had heart and character in a 5-4 loss. After leading the game 3-0 the Tigers came back and scored 5 runs in the top of the sixth. The Pirates in the bottom of the inning started a two out rally led by a blistering home run by John Dilauro followed by a single by Mike Jandovitz and a base on balls by Adrian Silver. A double steel put runners on second and third where the runners were stranded as the Tigers retired the side. Strong hitting by Chris Leung ( 2 hits ) , Anthony Perrone ( double ), James Bicierro ( 2 hits ) Mike Jandovitz ( 2 hits ) John Dilauro ( 1 hit, 1 HR ) Andrian Silver ( 1 hit ). Strong pitching by John Weitzel ( 4 k's ). Strong fielding by Chris Sanchez behind the plate and Mike Guglielmi at 3rd base.

In their third game Dr. Onorato Dermatology's Pirates vs. the Devils Rays the game ended in a 7-7 tie. Strong pitching by John Weitzel ( 8 k's ) and Mike Jandovitz ( 6 k's ). Hitting led by John Weitzel ( 1 hit, 1 double ) Chris Sanchez ( 1 HR ) Paul Conte ( 2 hits ) Mike Guglielmi ( 1 hit ) Mike Jandovitz ( 1 hit ). Outstanding fielding by Robert Fauci Jr. Mike Fiskin, and Andrian Silver.

Deliza Restaurant Tigers 5
The Reds brought another win home for Baxter's Sports Shop. Z. West pitched the whole game allowing only 5 runs from the strong Deliza Restaurant Tigers. A strong defense was led by M. Deluca, J. Stein, J. Gomez and M. Bartolni. A big third inning homerun by N. Tadero gave the Reds a big lift, helped by great base running by J. Mehr, S. Mangin. A great throw by E. Doreste saved a run. Great going Reds!

Hair Debonaire Orioles 4
Another great game by all the Astros in a tough 7-4 win over a strong Orioles team. The game-winning rbi was a bases loaded walk by Matt Haray in the 6th inning. The offense was led by Robbie Ferlazzo (2 runs, 3 hits, 2 rbi), Danny Puglia (2 hits, run, 2 rbi), Tommy Graziano (double, rbi), Jon Paul DiMarco (hit, run), Robert Butler (2 hits, run), and Richie Tarantola (walk, run). Outstanding defense by Ryan Puglia, Frankie Tong, Brett Spielberg, and Aneesh Sahni. Pitchers Ryan Puglia and Robbie Ferlazzo shut down the Oriole offense. Great game Astros!

Pace Pharmacy Blue Jays 9 vs.
Baxter's Sport Shop Reds 9
Only one word could be used to sum up this game between the Pace Pharmacy Blue Jays and the hard hitting Baxter's Sports Shop Reds and that word is wow! This game ended in a 9-9 tie and was a nail biter all the way to the last out. The Jays jumped out to an early lead with big hits off the bats of Anthony Zammit, Michael Pucci, Robert Carroll, Jake Zeller and a big home run to left center off the bat of Billy Kerrane. The Jays were also stellar in the field with awesome defensive plays turned in by Pat Rappa, Colin McPhilips, Tom Fasano, Philip Ring and Neil Bisciello. Way to go Jays!
April 18
Pace Pharmacy Blue Jays 9 vs.
Baxter's Sport Shop Reds 9
The Baxter's Sport Shop Reds tied the Pace Pharmacy Blue Jays in a game called on account of darkness. K. Gottleib pitched 3 strong innings. A. Prisco had a great show his first time on the mound this year striking-out 2 and giving-up 1 run. A. Nicolelis held back the Blue Jays with a big catch. Great defensive team effort by M. Bartolni, J. Gomez, S. Mangin, N. Tadero and M. Deluca. Z. West played a utility role for the Reds while E. Doreste had 2 hits and J. Mehr stole home. Way to go Reds!!!

Delizia Restaurant Tigers 2
Great effort by all the Astros in a 2-0 loss to a tough Tigers team. The offense was led by Robbie Ferlazzo (hit, 2 sb), Tommy Graziano (walk, sb), Danny Puglia (hit, sb), Jon Paul DiMarco (hit, sb), Brett Spielberg (hit, sb), Richie Tarantola (walk), Frankie Tong (walk), Matt Haray (walk), and Chris Ambrosio (hit). Good defense by Robert Butler and Aneesh Sahni. Pitchers Ryan Puglia and Robbie Ferlazzo were terrific. Let's shake this one off, Astros! Good game, guys!

Delizia Restaurant Tigers 2 vs.
Funeral Home Astros 0
In a well played pitchers dual ballgame, the Delizia Restaurant Tigers squeaked by the New Hyde Park Funeral Astros by a score of 2 - 0. The Tigers scored both their runs in the fifth inning. Scott Savell got the Tigers on the board with a sac fly after key hits by Dylan Reid and Mike Marsigliano who started the inning. Christian Curran added a double knocking in the second run but was later cut down at the plate on a nice play by the Astros. Nice job to all Delizia Tiger players: Anthony, Jason, Peter, Andrew, Fayyaz,
Tony, Derek and Michael. Christian Curran with a brilliant pitching performance going the distance with 12K's, 2 walks, and his second win. Nice game Astros and Tigers!

April 18
Lazio Pizza Angels 6 vs.
Wireless Mariners 5
The Lazio Pizza Angels used a furious two out, last inning rally to beat NHP Wireless Mariners 6-5. Lazio Pizza trailed 5 - 1 and was down to its last out when the amazing rally started. Steve Cialone and Jonathan Rivera each reached base on a walk. A double steal set up runners at second and third base. DJ Gerowski ripped a single to right field, scoring both runners and cutting the NHP Wireless lead to 5 - 3. Sean Rogers then singled, sending DJ Gerowski to third base. Rogers then stole second and again set up two runners in scoring position. Leo Varghese continued his clutch hitting with a game tying, two RBI single. Varghese then stole second base and set up heroics for Ed Daly. After fouling off several pitches, Daly laced a single to right field, Varghese scored and Lazio Pizza pulled out an unbelievable win against a great NHP Wireless team. The Lazio Pizza teammates ran out onto the field and mobbed both Leo Varghese and Ed Daly in celebration of their incredible win. Gerowski, Varghese and Cialone pitched for Lazio Pizza, and John Ferlazzo made an outstanding running catch in left field early in the game that kept NHP Wireless from taking a bigger lead.
