Since its inception the Herricks Community Players have been blessed to have the talented music maestro Sue Weber guiding all the singers and dancers through each and every musical show. Further, she handpicks the orchestra choosing only the most talented musicians on Long Island to perform. She will be front and center with baton in hand Friday night when the curtain opens on Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, the spring production of the Herricks Community Players. The show may be seen on the Herricks Community Theater stage, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park, on April 26, 27, May 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. and on April 28 and May 5 at 3 p.m.

Velma Adams and Susan Weber gear up for Herricks Community Players production of Annie Get Your Gun opening Friday night April 26.
|
Weber is no stranger to the Long Island musical world having been the president of the Nassau Music Educators Association. She is also a past president of the Long Island String Festival Association and is currently the 3rd vice-president of NYSSMA (The New York State School Music Association). Weber is a music teacher in the Turtle Hook Middle School, Uniondale. Along with Weber, Velma Adams, who is Assistant Principal at Turtle Hook Middle School, will be seated, as she usually is at the keyboard of the piano. At every show, during rehearsal, Adams is on hand with Weber and is an integral aid to any musical production because she accompanies the singers and dancers and gives them musical cues.
They are both invaluable to any production and work very hard to make sure that the Herricks Community Players always produce the most professional shows. The Herricks Community Players orchestra always rivals any off-Broadway show in the music department. .
Annie Get Your Gun promises to be another Herricks Community Players sellout so get your tickets at the earliest possible moment by calling 742-1926. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for senior citizens.
