NHP Wildcats Micro Season will begin in April ... this is a co-ed program open to all pre-K children ... please send in your application immediately to insure a roster spot for your child. Any questions please call Dominic Marrano at 437-4508. The program is on Saturday mornings at the Denton Ave. School grounds and run for five weeks beginning in April. Please visit our web-site at www.eteamz.com/NHPWildcatsSoccer.
Last Friday evening at the LIJSL's 20th annual convention dinner at the Huntington Hilton, the Wildcats recognized their current president, Rich Hess, as their "Volunteer of the Year". Over many years, Hess has served the club as an intramural coach, travel coach, division director, commissioner, registrar, vice president and, for the last two years, president. He has always put the interests of the children as his top priority.
"While he has been the president for just under two years, Hess has made his mark. Under his leadership the club has added a micro soccer program for kindergarten children. The club has a solid intramural program, in one of the largest on Long Island, and a strong and competitive travel program. His girls U-17 Straycats, travel team has consistently finished at or near the top of their division each season. They are always in the running for the sportsmanship award, capturing the coveted title on several occasions.
Further, Hess personally assists with the TOP Soccer Program and makes it an enjoyable session for both the parents and the players with his inimitable wit and style. The club's finances are strong. We have been able to offer coach's clinics for our new coaches. The club began a new policy of issuing coaching packages for intramural coaches in the Continental and Cabbage Patch divisions.
Hess held the first open coach's meeting last year and it was warmly received as a vehicle to exchange ideas and to disseminate information. It is obvious that his dedication and commitment have had a positive impact on the Wildcats' family. He has earned the title as "Volunteer of the Year".
Newspaper articles should now be sent to Rosemarie Cavallaro via e-mail at the following: Richcavallaro518@msn.com
She will be taking over editing the articles. Anne Sawicki will only receive articles for the next two weeks until the transition is final.
