Game One, score 2-0: Strikers played West Islip to a shutout. Daniel Lorandini scored both the Wildcats goals assisted by Kevin Towey. Strongly supported on defense by Nick Perrone. Playing superb in goal was Johnny Tomasini.
Game Two, score 1-1: Strikers tied Oceanside in a tough fought game. Scoring on indirect was Danny Lorandinbi from Steven Rickert's well placed tap. Once again, Johnny Tomasini played strong in net. The midfield was well played by Luke Georges. Joey Carbone was a defensive wall.
Game Three, score 5-0: The Strikers really turned it on against North Shore. Kevin Towey with an unbelievable hat trick. Danny Lorandini assisted his first goals. This time Danny assisted Steven Riekert for his goal. Adding in another goal was Danny Lorandini. Marvelous midfield support by Nick Perrone and Paul Reo. Excellent plays made defensively by Joey Carbone.
Game Four, score 3-1: The trio of scoring beat Plainview-Old Bethpage. The first goal scored seconds into the game with a Kevin to Danny to Joey Carbone goal. The next goal came minutes later with Danny to Kevin to Joey. These were the two most beautifully passed balls ever witnessed at a U-7 soccer game. Making the third goal was Kevin Towey off of a Steven Riekert pass. Luke Georges cleared many balls from the midfield. Paul Reo had some big defensive moves. Johnny Tomasini preserved the win from goal.
Game Five, score 0-0: This was a back and forth battle between New Hyde Park and East Meadow. Although no goals were scored there was a lot of offensive pressure. Nick Perrone tried his hardest from the midfield with Luke's support. Outstanding defense by Joey Carbone saved the team many, many times.
First place was awarded to the Wildcats because of bonus points earned. This is attributed to the outstanding offense and defense played by the entire team. Congratulations to Coach Eric and all the parents. A special congratulations to Daniel Lorandini for winning the MVP of the tournament.
