The Herricks Homecoming was held on an absolutely perfect day; more like a spring day rather than Oct. 20. The day dawned with the start of the Annual Herricks Race and Walk and the route was packed with both racers and walkers; actually 75 in each category. FULL STORY

New Hyde Park Village Deputy Mayor Robert Lofaro announced at the beginning of last Saturday's Long Island Rail Road meeting that the village received word from both the LIRR and the New York State Department of Transportation that they would not be attending the meeting because there was nothing new to report. The Merillon Little League's Challenger Young Adult team played in its second tournament on Oct. 14 at Hofstra University at their annual tournament. The extra practice we were able to get in since their first Special Olympic tournament showed as they played significantly better this time out, as they learn to adapt to the new rules and stiffer competition.
