Rob Jordan

March 16, 1967 - September 11, 2001

The last week of August into the Labor Day Weekend, East Williston residents, Rob Jordan and his wife Elizabeth, a 5th grade teacher at Cross Street School in Williston Park, took a trip to her home state, California. They began their trip visiting his mother and step-father in Newport Beach. They golfed three rounds and spent time swimming, visiting friends and relaxing. They celebrated their 9th anniversary on the 29th of August at an Italian restaurant on Balboa Island. The remainder of the trip was spent in San Francisco visiting Elizabeth's family. Rob and Elizabeth attended her cousin's wedding on the first of September at Grace Cathedral in the Chapel of Grace, the place where they were married nine years prior. It was great for them to have spent 10 days with both their families and friends.

On Sept. 11, Rob was working in the World Trade Center on the 104th floor of tower #1 where the first plane hit. Sadly, neither he nor any of his co-workers have been found alive. Among the people who are missing are many of Rob and Elizabeth's close friends.

Rob Jordan was a successful college athlete and oarsman at Orange Coast College and the University of California at Berkeley. Cal is where Elizabeth and Rob, both English majors, met backstage at graduation in 1991 at the Greet theatre. They met May 18, were engaged in July and married the following August. A successful bond broker, who loved his job, he also loved to surf, golf, and dance at weddings and laugh (the loudest). Aside from his wife, Elizabeth Russell Jordan, Rob leaves behind his parents, step-parents, three brothers and one sister and thousands of friends around the world. Rob's laugh, generosity and love for life will never be forgotten and will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Northfield Congregational Church, 64 Northfield Road, Weston, CT. 06883. Call 203-227-7886 for directions.
