We, at The Illustrated News would like to add our voice to the many other expressions of sympathy...especially to all of those families in our community who tragically lost loved ones to the hand of terrorists last Tuesday. Like everyone everywhere, it is hard to understand why any one group of people could harbor that much hate against so many innocent people.
Keeping in mind the very diverse community that we live in, we must also be sensitive to the Arab and Muslim families, especially those with children in our schools and in our communities. We must instruct our children that they are not to harbor ill-feelings for those families or for those children.
Many of these families are United States citizens and have been living here for years contributing in a positive manner to make our way of life better. Certainly they are not to blame for the mad men that took so many lives. Sometimes children, without meaning to be, can be brutal so we need to remind them to carry love, not hate, in their hearts. The whole country is in pain, and perhaps in a small way we can each help ease that pain.
We at The Illustrated News welcome any letters or stories relating to that terrible day and as always welcome any photos that might help to memorialize any of your lost loved ones.
