The Capris, consisting of Tommy Ferrara, Frankie Reina and Nick Santamaria, are sponsored by State Bank of Long Island in conjunction with the Town of North Hempstead and the group is so good that each year when the word goes out that they will be entertaining on the pool deck at Clinton Martin Park the crowds just get bigger and bigger, but this year reached the all-time highest attendance since the town has run entertainment programs.
Many dignitaries were on hand to herald the return of The Capris including North Hempstead Town Supervisor May Newburger along with Councilmen Angelo Ferrara, a personal friend of the trio and Anthony D'Urso along with the sponsor representative of the event State Bank of Long Island Senior Vice-President Robert J. Valli. Prior to the start of the festivities Newburger presented a plaque of appreciation to the bank and it was accepted by Valli.
Also on hand was just about everybody both in and around the New Hyde Park, Williston Park area who came to listen to The Capris, plus many of the candidates who are running for re-election in the November election just to say hello to all the many gathered for the concert.
