Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fredericks, of New Hyde Park, would like to thank all the caring friends, neighbors and relatives who attended and local merchants who donated gifts and services for the fund-raiser dinner dance of May 30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in New Hyde Park to support their daughter Lauren A. Fredericks in her battle against leukemia.

Lauren fought Hodgkin's Lymphoma almost three years prior and won that battle. However she developed leukemia (AML) early in January and did all she could to conquer the second cancer. She never complained. She was a senior in high school but she showed courage and maturity beyond her years. She was an inspiration not only to her classmates but to all who knew her.

However, in spite of receiving a bone marrow transplant, she lost her struggle and on June 23 she passed away. Close to three thousand on June 26 attended her wake at the New Hyde Park Funeral Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Fredericks extend their appreciation to all those who came to honor Lauren and to say farewell to a wonderful young person who loved life and became a model of courage and determination to her friends, family and to everyone who knew her.
