President Sutz then opened this phase of the meeting to the public and one gentleman in the audience wanted to know what C.L.A.S.S. was. There was no definite explanation at the meeting but the Illustrated News called Assistant Superintendent for Business Stephen Golas and he gave the following explanation:
C.L.A.S.S. is a depository used for district funds. It is a municipal bond investors corporation designed for money deposits and withdrawals on short term notice. C.L.A.S.S. functions for liquid assets, often used for payrolls and paychecks. It serves investment accounts that require frequent money exchanges that allow for overnight holdings and releases. Although C.L.A.S.S applies interest to deposits, it is rarely used."
The reorganizational portion of the meeting was closed by President Sutz and a brief recess was called before the start of the regular meeting.
