Tryouts for the new boys and girls fall 2001 travel teams will be held on June 5 and 6 at the Denton Ave. Field. The raindate is June 7. Tryouts are open only to currently registered intramural players whose birthdates fall between Aug. 1, 1991 and Dec. 31, 1992. Players must attend both sessions.

Tryouts for the boys will be held Tuesday, June 5, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Tryouts for the girls will be held Tuesday, June 5, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Registration begins a half-hour before the start of tryouts. Please be prepared for tryouts; bring water, a soccer ball, shinguards and cleats.

Round 1

Third place Falcons vs. sixth place Bewitched: Falcons win 1-0.

Fourth place Soccer Cats vs. fifth place Rugrats: Soccer Cats win 3-1.

Round 2

First place Express vs. fourth place Soccer Cats: Express wins 4-1.

Second place Panthers vs. third place Falcons: Falcons win 2-1.

Finals - Championship Round

First place Express vs. third place Falcons: Express wins in double overtime 2-1.

Congratulations to the first place champions, Express, and second place winners, the Falcons! To all the playoff teams, congratulations on your outstanding efforts. Every playoff game was thrilling soccer!

A special thank you to Girls' Intramural Commissioner Diana Riccardi for all your support and to board member Ken Simon for the fantastic new equipment.

On a rainy weekend in New Jersey our girls won three games losing one and capturing second place. Goal scorers Sarah Kuehl, Lauren Baumann, Angela Russo and guest player Marie LaMaida.

S. Merrick Green Machine 2

Lady Jaguars well played game but just fell short by the score of 2-1. Sarah Kuehl opened the scoring on a cross that found the net. Lauren Baumann and Lucia Giordano controlled Green Machine's forwards. Meghan Pate, Leah Cantor and Elizabeth Montreuil were winning loose balls.

Congratulations on a well deserved first place Kickcats. This was an excellent clinic on what it takes to be champions.
