TF O'Brien Cardinals vs.

Meldon Silverman Brewers

Both teams demonstrated timely hitting and sparkling defense. For the Cardinals Christian Theodoropoulos went 2 for 3 with two runs scored, Christopher Kelly went 2 for 3 with a homerun and one RBI, John Fitzgerald went 2 for 3 with a triple, homerun and four RBIs and David Luchino went 2 for 3 with a homerun and two RBIs. Both David (two innings) and Christian (one inning) pitched solid for the team. Matthew Dillon hit a homerun in and played at the catcher position. Michael Ali, Johnny Mahon, Matthew Magenheim, Sal Signorelli and Thomas Perniciaro played outstanding defense.

April 21

Cellini vs. NHP Elks

Star performance came from Ryan Herbst who had five singles and one double. Vinny Labruna, Brian Renta, Mike Simon and Mike Spindel had great games hitting the ball. Paul Niewierowski, Matthew Ryan, Paul Morrow, John Stevens and Henry Morrow good improvement in the field.

May 16

Greenpoint Dodgers vs. Marlins

Great defensive playing on first base by Steven Ambrosio, Steven Curran and Joey Citriniti. Players at second base, Brandon Chow, Kevin Padilla and Jared Root did an excellent job. Third base was covered by the outstanding plays made by John Anthony DiMaria, Joey D'Amico and Anthony Pesiri. Super job behind home plate by Max Nero and Christopher Rocco.

May 14

NHP Stationery Athletics vs. Cubs

Great defense was the key to the A's third straight win. Good fielding by Kunal Singh, Ace Goldstein, Andrew Pugliese, Anthony Obidienzo, an unassisted double play by Joe Carbone and the assistes by Taylor Ward to Nicholas Tornatore at first base kept the game exciting. Cousins Dominick Fazzolari and Domenico Fazzolari both win the award for Most Improved Batters. Over all it was a great game.

Cellini Lodge Braves vs. K of C

The highlight of the game came from Paul Morrow who had four singles. Hitting came from V. Labruna, B. Renta, and M. Simon. Great fielding from H. Morrow, J. Stevens, R. Herbst, M. Ryan and P. Niewierowski. Let's go Braves.

Cellini Lodge Braves vs.

Devane and Groder AAL

Leading the way was Paul Niewierowski with four singles. Good heads up play from H. Morrow, P. Morrow and J. Stevens. Good timely hitting from V. Labruna, B. Renta, M. Simon, B. Shea and M. Spindle.

Cellini Lodge Braves vs. State Bank of LI

Spindel led the way with four singles and heads up base running. Powerful hitting came from P. Morrow, V. Labruna, M. Simon, R. Herbst, B. Shea and P. Niewierowski. Great defensive play all around the field from B. Renta, H. Morrow and J. Stevens.

Delizia Restaurant Tigers 10

NHP Funeral Home Astros 4

After the Astros took an early 1-0 lead, the Delizia Tigers scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and held the lead for the remainder of the game. The Tigers were led by Christopher Sanchez (triple and two doubles), Patrick Ambrosio, Anthony Campisi, and James Heinrich with two hits apiece as well as singles by Peter Pecora, Zach Root and a double by Christian Curran who also scored three times. Nice defensive plays for the Tigers by Tony Citriniti at third base and Christopher Ambrosio at shortstop. Solid pitching by Zach Root and Patrick Ambrosio.

NHP Funeral Home 8 - Hair Debonnaire 3

Billy, Timmy and Matthew each pitched very well. Aneesh and Nicky hit the ball hard all day. Brendan and Mike D. had strong games behind the plate and at third respectively. Getting better every game.

May 20

Caruso Barber Shop Reds 5 - Mariners 6

A disappointing loss by the Reds, who were able to come back from a 3-0 deficit with the second grand slam by John Weitzel in two games, giving his team the lead. Unfortunately, after tying the game 5-5, with a timely hit and aggressive base running by Tony Peveraro, the Reds fell short in the last inning losing 6-5. Well pitched game by John and Andrew. Good play by Dylan, Shane, Stephen, Alex, Robert and Matt.

May 17

Caruso Barber Shop vs. Bluejays

The Reds bats came alive with 14 hits against a tough Bluejays team. Leading the offensive was John going (3-4) with a grand slam, triple, and single. Followed by Andrew who was 3 for 4 with a two run homer, Tony who was 2 for 2 with a two run homer and Dylan who was 3 for 4 with two RBIs. The defensive play of Kyle, Shane, Stephen, Robert, Matthew, Chris, Alex and Frankie was instrumental in Caruso Barber Shop Reds victory.

May 17

Pace Pharmacy Blue Jays vs.

Caruso Barbershop Reds

It was a total team effort by the Blue Jays but they came up just short to the hard hitting Reds. Bright spot defensively for the Blue Jays was Shelvin Sam, Tom Fasano, Gabe Gonzalas, Jordan Buff and John Ganz. The great defense inspired a rally by the Blue Jays who almost pulled this one out with at bats by Michael Pucci, Neil Bisciello, Anthony Perrone, Jordan Fox, Anthony Zammit and Tom Cunningham.

Pace Pharmacy Blue Jays vs.

NHP Funeral Home

The hitting stars for the Blue Jays were Michael Pucci (2-3), Anthony Zammit had a big RBI, Mike Jandovitz (2-3) and Anthony Perrone who smacked a big triple. The Blue Jays had nice defensive plays turned in by Tom Cunningham, Shelvin Sam, Jordan Buff and Tom Fasano. Neil Bisciello had a great outing on the mound and Gabe Gonzalas was awesome behind the plate.

May 19

Joseph Onorato MD Red Sox vs.

CDM Tire Expos

This was a total team effort by the Red Sox. The Red Sox had key at bats by Nick Cusamano, Eric Wendt, Christopher Pucci and Ethan Loosen who came up from the Minors division to help out the Sox. Tom Brennan had a strong outing on the mound. Defensively the Red sox were up to the task with run saving play turned in by Steve Cialone, Ed Daly and Brian Cyriac. Pedro Swarez kept the Expo runners in check.

May 19

NHP Funeral Home Astros 7 vs.

Pace Pharmacy Blue Jays 2

The Astros (6-4) offense was led by Jared Muller (three hits, two RBI), Robbie Ferlazzo (two hits, RBI), Eric Doreste (hit, RBI), Brett Spielberg (hit, four SB), Ryan McNulty (hit, run, RBI), Andrew Coster (walk, run), and Jon Paul DiMarco (hit, RBI). Strong defense by Zack Ricchuti and Jeffrey Sallusto. The pitching duo of Robbie Ferlazzo and Eric Doreste shut down the Blue Jays.

Lazio Pizza Angels 8 vs.

Stephen Kostel started the rally with a triple, and scored on a home run off the bat of DJ Gerowski. Sean Rogers and Nick Lipinski each had hits in the first inning. Lazio Pizza continued to tack on runs in each inning thanks to clutch hits from Chris Dicerbo and Jonathan Defelice. Colin McPhillips started another run scoring rally for the Angels. Chris Laporta used his outstanding speed to hit his first home run of the season and help extend Lazio Pizza's lead over the Diamondbacks. D.J. Gerowski and Chris Dicerbo combined pitching for the victory. Sean Rogers and Chris Laporta made outstanding outfield plays. Paul Cunningham and Timmy Hanna flashed some leather with great plays on the infield. Jordan Stein hit two shots, but got robbed of base hits.

Lavera Pizza Pirates 9 vs.

Lazio Pizza 1

Great game by all. John Morana hit a monster home run. Matt Boyd, Matt Morana, Matt Simms had four hits each. Mike Colavito pitched four winnings, 11 walks. Jamie Brolly closed out the Lavera Pirates third, one hitter of the season and made a spectacular diving catch off the mound.

May 20

Lavera Pizza Pirates 6 vs.

Williston Park #1 3

Jamie Brolly pitched four shut out innings. Mike Colavito and Matt Sims had a home run. Nick Jandovitz, Matt Bodh, Desi Farrell, Mike Santalesa, John Ferlazzo had two hits each.

May 19

CDM Tire Expos 6 vs.

Joseph Onorato MD Red Sox 3

Matthew Loosen pitched four innings striking out nine and had two hits. Matthew Morissey had two hits and two RBI's. Warren Kelly made a catch in left, had two hits and scored two runs with two hits was Derek Cheung who also scored a run. Cory Williams had a bunt single and a great catch of a line drive at third base. Sammy Wilbur singled, stole a base and scored a run. Leo Varghese played a solid third base, singled and stole a base. Matthew Williams continued as catcher and hit the ball well, being robbed of two well hit outfield shots that were caught. Fine effort by Clement Yu who played an all around great defense game.

May 12

CDM Tire Expos 9 vs.

Joseph Onorato MD Red Sox 5

Matthew Loosen had his third hit, a three-run homer, struck out the side with the bases loaded, leading the CDM Tire Expos to an exciting 9-5 come-from-behind win. The third straight win for the Expos who have scored a total of 38 runs in the last three games. Starting pitcher Matthew Morissey struck out eight and went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Cory Williams tripled and scored two runs. Matthew Williams as catcher, tripled and scored a run. Chris Lodise on offensive went 1 for 2 with three stolen bases, a run scored and an RBI. Defense by Leo Varghese and Sammy Wilbur. Derek Cheung stole a base and Clement Yu stole a base and scored a run. Jonathan Nizzo stole a base and scored a key run in the exciting fifth inning.

May 17

CDM Tire Expos 6 vs.

Lazio Pizza Angels 2

Leo Varghese was the offensive star of the game with two hits knocking in four runs. Matthew Loosen pitched the final two shutout innings striking out four, made two great catches in the field and had two hits. Matthew Morissey pitched the first four innings and had two hits. Cory Williams had two hits. Chris Lodise and Sean McGonigle had singles. Warren Kelly scored a run. Matthew Williams had great game as catcher, defense by Sammy Wilbur who made a nice play at second base and Clement Yu played a solid defensive game in the outfield.

May 17

Yankees vs. Williston Park #1

Merillon won its third game of the season 14 to 11 against a tough hitting team. This game was one with excellent pitching by Robby Kassoff. Outstanding hitting by Christian Yu, Robby Piccola, Tom Ferraro, Marty Kurasz, Nick Zacarese and Andrew Sanchez. Some excellent defensive plays in the field by Nick Zacarese and Vishal Vaghela. Merillons record improved to 3 and 4.

May 19

Yankees vs. East Williston

Merillon had a tough day losing to an excellent fundamental team in East Williston #1 12 to 3. Some bright spots in the game was excellent pitching by Mike Graham. Merillons defense let down the excellent pitching performance; however, there was some excellent plays made in the field by Robby Piccola, Marty Kurasz and Mike McHale. Hitting was light with Robby Piccola being the bright spot. Merillons' record slips to 3 and 5.

May 14

Merillon 2 Kiwanis Club vs. Merillon 3

Another great game. Amanda Rivken, Jennifer McHale and Kristen Lynch led the way with timely hitting. Gina Desantis and Alicia Brewer showed great defensive skills in the field and Danielle Gaspe played an all around fantastic game.

May 20

Merillon 2 Kiwanis Club vs. NHP #2

Kelly Kasrane, Tara Taliercio and Jillian Graziano had key hits to jumpstart our offense. Defense was led by the stellar plays of Samantha Botticelli and Hayley Sato. Krystine Abberrun anchored the team with her great play behind the plate.

May 20

Fleet Bank vs. Glen Oaks

The girls put on a hitting clinic with all players having at least two hits. Hitting stars were Elizabeth, Joanna, Jessica, Melissa and Brianna all having four or more hits. Our fielding continues to improve, with terrific plays made by Christina, Emily, Deandra and Shrada. Keep up the great work!

May 14

Waste Management Mets 10 vs.

F&F Roofing 4

Pitching stars were Dayna Obdienza, Olivia Peros and Lauren Ernst. Dayna made a great play on a slow grounder coming off the mound and making the long throw to first. Dayna also had three hits and three runs scored. Olivia Peros grabbed a grounder at the mound and ran home to get the force. Olivia had three singles and three runs scored. Lauren Ernst ended the game with four strikeouts in two innings. Lauren had four hits and two RBI's. Victoria Caniano had a single and a run scored. Ann Marie McHale had three hits, a walk and two RBI's. Toni Ann Amico had three hits, a walk and three RBI's. Aileen McGonigle had a walk and a RBI. Stephanie Mongone had a single and a RBI. Alex Vigliarolo had a single and a RBI. Heather Taliercio had a single.

May 14

Lourde Gregory 16 vs. Mineola 10

Lourde Gregory's brought their hitting styles when they defeated Mineola 16-10. Four hit performances were turned in by Kati Palmer (including two triples), Caitlin Petruccio and Tricia Philbin. Three hit performances by Cristina Cannella, Katie Flynn and Simone Morrow. Kim Stein and Samantha Sanginiti shared hitting duty from hard throwing Katie Flynn.

May 17

Glen Oaks 12 vs.

Lourde Gregory's 11

Lourde Gregory's lost a close game to Glen Oaks 12-11. Katie Flynn and Simone Morrow combined a great effort, but Glen Oaks kept chopping away. Katie Flynn, Simone Morrow, Kati Palmer and Kim Stein had a perfect day at the plate. Julia Diolallevi's hot bat was also producing. Erin McGillicuddy, Samantha Sanginiti and Caitlin Petruccio also made defensive plays.

May 17

Virgilio Chiropractic 18 vs.

Port Washington 5

Carla and Roseann pitched very well. Each girl also had two hits. Nicole and Megan did a great job behind the plate. Meg threw out a runner stealing third. Jennifer and Jessica were on base four times each. Allie was our eighth player and played a good right field. Get well Eileen. We miss you!

Virgilio Chiropractic 9 vs.

Faith, Megan and Jessica led our attack with each having two hits. Jennifer and Victoria each pitched three strong innings. Roseann and Erin made several good plays in the field. Great game girls! Keep it going.

Baxter BBBs Defeat East Williston 8-7

The Baxter BBBs, saved by a diving catch by Vanessa Yu, defeated East Williston 8-7. The BBBs came out strong, as Nicole Palmer, Jamie Terran, Elyse Petruccio, Maureen Flynn and Kelly Geus pounded out singles to take a 3-0 lead in the first inning. East Williston inched back and took a 5-3 lead, which would have been greater if not for pitching from both Tara Marsigliano and Meghan Morrisey. In the fifth inning the BBBs struck back as Caitlyn Miller's lead off walk started a five-run rally punctuated by RBI hits from Meghan, Nicole, Jamie, Maureen and Kelly. East Williston came back strong in the sixth, however, and had closed to 8-7 with a runner on first and one out. A deep ball to the right center gap came next, threatening to be a home run to put East Williston ahead. But Vanessa raced hard into the gap, alertly fired the ball in to hold the runner at first. The momentum thwarted, East Williston's last batter grounded out, with Kim Miller making the final putout.

May 19

ABC Rental 10 vs.

Baxters Sport Shop 7

In an exciting come-from-behind victory, the girls from ABC Rental were again led by call ups Lauren Ernst (10), Victoria Pisciotta (11) and Katie Flynn (11) playing in the 13, 14 and 15-year-old division. Victoria walked and stole a couple of bases with great slides. Katie was on all four times with one walk and three hits. Lauren walked and stroked a hard line drive single to right and stole two bases with perfect slides. A last inning rally was led by Kerri Ann Rudd with a single, Stephanie Ligouri added a single and a double by Christina Lipinski knocked in two runs. Christine Deluca knocked in Christina with a single and Karen Ernst knocked her with a single. Katie Flynn ended the scoring with a RBI single. Julianne Schaefer pitched two great innings until getting hurt, but continued to play despite the pain. Kerri Ann Rudd pitched the last two innings to get the win. Christine Deluca also pitched two great innings. Kerri Schaefer did a great job at catcher.

Mineola 7 vs. ABC Rental 1

The girls from ABC Rental were shut down by a great Mineola pitcher. The stars of the game were Katie Flynn and Victoria Pisciotta (11 year olds playing in the 13, 14 and 15-year-old division). Katie hit the ball hard in all her at bats and Victoria walked twice and stole two bases with great slides. Both girls played great defense. Christina Lipinski had an outstanding game catching a fly, and threw out two runners at first, all in the first inning. She then caught two more flies and threw out another runner. Kerri Schaefer also caught a high fly in the sun. Julianne Schaefer made a great running catch of a line drive in centerfield and just missed throwing out a tagging runner at third. Jessica Shacor made two great plays at short. Karen Ernst caught a fly from her catcher's position. Christine Deluca played a strong game at first base. Kerri Ann Rudd and Stefanie Weitzel were the pitcher stars. Stephanie Ligouri hit a rocket double.
