The New Hyde Park Warriors lacrosse team went to Jericho this Sunday. It was another hard fought game. We were ahead by 4 goals twice. We could not stop the fast break late in the game, and we lost 12-11. Our team has been in every game we played so far because our boys never let up.

Ground ball award goes to No. 19 Michael Sincoff. Best effort goes to No. 11 Matt Goldberg on defense for 2 blocked shots. Most Improved goes to No. 15 Brian Gillespie for his field play.

Scoring - No. 9 Brent Williams with 3 goals, No. 3 John Robinson with 2 goals, 1 assist; No. 17 Matt Lynn with 2 goals; No. 22 Michael Millilo with 1 goal.

The next game is May 13 at New Hyde Park High School against Levittown at 2:30 p.m.

On May 6, the NHP Bulldogs took a 5-1 decision from a talented Levittown team. This was a complete team effort, with five players pulling in 4 ground balls. The game ball goes to Stevie Mastrandrea, our goalie, for displaying great game sense in collecting 4 ground balls. Steve also had 6 great saves and many excellent clearing passes to our midfield.

Levittown has a hard time advancing the ball past Michael Howard (3 goals), Tom D'Augustinis (1 goal), Joe Arlotta, Brendon Gurrier (1 goal), Frankie Tloczkowski, Nick Fishman, Danny Viviano, Matt Simms and Dean Grunert. Our defense of Peter Dimaria, Matt Siracusa, James Flaherty and James Von Der Linn disrupted any plays Levittown tried to execute. Our attack of Justin O'Leary, Keefe Castoria and Johnathan Rezin controlled the offensive flow by finding the open players. Next game is May 13 at NHP Memorial HS at 4 p.m.
