HBC Rolling Thunder 7
NHP Lady Jaguars 0
Played HBC for the first time and a premier division team also for the first time provided the Lady Jaguars with their worst ever defeat 0-7. Stefanie Weitzel, Amanda Zanitte and Elizabeth Montreuil were sacrificed in goal. Our 12 girls who showed up gave it their all.
NHP Lady Jaguars 1
GCP Warriors 1
A much better performance by our girls. Sarah Hull scored our goal. Lauren Bauman was spectacular in mid field. Only a great save prevented her end to end rush from winning the game. Angela Russo, Meghan Pate, Kristen Fricione, Maria Concilio and Leah Cantor had strong games pressuring our opponent. In the end, we had a dozen excellent scoring chances to our opponents one good shot. Lauren Stacom, please get will soon!
Kickcats 3 - Bayport 1
After a two week break, the Kickcats advance to the next Waldbaum round by beating Bayport 3-1. With some sloppy playing in the first half, as usual, the Kickcats woke up in the second half with some slick passing. Beautiful goal scoring by Janyne, Diana and Corinne and a solid game by Suzie, Kristina, Ashley, Alison and Amanda. A near perfect game by Devon.
Kickcats 4 - East Islip 0
Going out east with no subs, these girls went out and put everything behind them and made sure that East Islip didn't get a chance in this game. A perfect shot by Alison made it a 1-0 game. Corinne added two more goals, followed by Ilana's closing goal. Great game by Jessica, Ali and Amanda, whose great speed kept East Islip quiet. Thanks for the great show of commitment girls!
The entire Kickcat team and the coaches would like to dedicate this season to Marisa Roberts, who was hurt in our first game of the season with a knee injury. We hope that everything goes well with a long rehab and that we see Marissa real soon on the soccer field and running track.
Lady Jaguars
Lady Jaguars 1 - North Babylon 1
In the first half, our girls played out of position only to find pressure on Lauren Baumann, Lucia Giordano, and Liz Montreuil. The second half North Babylon found the net giving them a 1-0 edge. With minutes remaining Lucia decided to come up from the back and drove a loose ball off the head of a North Babylon player to give us a 1-1 tie. Great job Lucia and all of our Lady Jaguars.

New York State Cup
Speedycats 0 - Brentwood Aztecs 1
To the surprise of the Brentwood team the Speedycats have come a long way from their last two meetings. Playing smart defense they played even with the Aztecs through the first half of the game. The midfielders Colleen (Red) Holahan, Lauren Marra, Diane McCormack, Cassie Green and Diana Amoroso kept their midfielders in check. Fullbacks Marie LaMaida, Alicia Ezat, Denise Ingram and Alicia DeMarco switching from halfback and fullback frustrated the potent Aztec front line all game long.
The second half the Speedycats continued to keep pace with the Brentwood's passing and hustling as they played through the heat and their exhaustion. The Aztecs scored the game's only goal but the front line of Marylou Donavan, Kim Grammas and Nicole Thomas almost came away with the equalizer. Last but not least is Janelle Reif fighting off the touch of the virus, got help from Denise in the first half, came back in the second half and made save after save. She typified what this team has and that's tremendous heart! You're getting there girls. Keep it up. Great game!
Mountain Lions 2 -
Farmingdale Fusion 2
The Mountain Lions came out flying on a wet, slick field. In the first half, the passes were well executed and the boys were playing smart. Danny Santarsieri struck first with a well-placed shot in the corner. The aggressive mid-field play of Chris Taglich gave NHP a 2-0 lead at the half when he pounded in a loose ball. Ed Daly's determination to be first to every loose ball helped keep the Fusion down. Robby Martines stopped two scoring opportunities with perfectly executed slide tackles. NHP continued to dominate the second half but two bad breaks led to Fusion goals. Their firs goal was scored on a penalty kick resulting from a questionable foul call on an aggressive play by our keeper. A slip on the wet field led to the second goal.
Massapequa Hurricanes 4 -
Mountain Lions 0
NHP knew they had their work cut out against the very strong Massapequa team and they came out ready to play. Constant pressure kept the Hurricanes off balance and produced several scoring chances for the Mountain Lions. Makis Konstantatos was the anchor on the strong defense while Patrick Nicoll closed down the middle of the field. The first half ended in a scoreless tie, with NHP earning some respect from the Hurricanes. But the Mountain Lions couldn't sustain the pace and faltered in the second half.
Sabercats 2 - Port Washington 1
The Sabercats played an all around, competitive game against the Port Washington Cheetahs. Goalkeeper Alicia was solid in goal, making some key saves. Christina and Hillary played terrific defense and reacted well against a strong, physical Port Washington forward line. The midfield line, consisting of Alison, Maiken and Lauren also played a tight defensive game. Jessica had a spectacular game in the first half. She booted a ball outside the 18. The ball was high in front of the net and confused the Port Washington defense who headed the ball into the net for NHP. Jessica blasted another ball from about 20 yards and it sailed into the net. Nicole D., Nicole R., Kristin, Courtney had some great runs with the midfield support of Stefanie and Danielle. Erin and RoseAnn made some key passes and kept the Port Washington defense and goalie quite busy. Unfortunately, with 10 minutes remaining in the game, Alicia made a diving save and twisted her ankle. Maiken was put in as goalie and was able to contain all of the Port Washington shots except for one. Playing into injury time, the Cheetah forward was able to capitalize on a long ball and shot one over Maiken's head. Great offensive and defensive teamwork, Sabercats.
Lady Starcats 0 -
West Babylon Sunburst 1
Our girls played a gem of a game against a very talented and strong West Babylon team. Just the day before the same teams met in State Cup competition and the Sunburst defeated a short staffed Starcat team on a day when the only bright spots were Monica Soluri's outstanding goalkeeping along with the entire defensive unit's play in keeping the Sunburst to one goal despite being undermanned by four on the playing field. Chiara Imbriano scored the lone Starcat goal in that game.
Today, however, we had 11 players and our girls played the Sunburst very tough, the score being 0-0 at the half. Our defensive unit led by Kaitlyn Kennedy, Jacquelyn Tursi, Caroline Romano and Kerianne Stein played brilliantly rejecting the Sunburst's advances. Midfielders Ashley Weinstein, Angela Cass and Deanna Perniciaro won the ball consistently fueling the offensive drives to forwards Jessika Wong, Samantha Zuckerman and Chiara Embriano. We had our chances, but just couldn't connect with the net. Erin Gilmartin, our new-found goalie, played an outstanding game in net making several great saves. A late "seeing eye" bouncing shot into the far end of the net was the difference. Playing with no subs, while the competition had many fresh feet, our girls showed a lot of heart, determination and class.
Tomcats 3 - V.S. Revolution 1
The Tomcats dominated a tough team with the score of 3-1. Goals were scored in this game by Zachary Santangelo (2), and Tommy Graziano with a great pass from Zachary Santangelo.
Some remarkable passing was seen by the spectators on the side. Bobby Montoni, Steve Lotti, Chris Leung and Michael Goldring led some of this.
Remarkable in defense was George Kouzionis and Nickey Sekula. A special thanks to Matthew Provetto, who gave 100 percent in defense, and showed us a lot of courage.
An outstanding game was played by the goalie Peter Fabrizi, who celebrated his 10th birthday today.
Stray Cats vs. Babylon Celtic 3
Despite dominating the action for most of the day, advancing to the next round of the State Cup wasn't meant to be. Jessica Lippolis has been playing well this season and today was no exception, giving the team help from her stopper position. Ashley Campson, Nicole Southern and Lauren DeSimone played well in the backfield. Megan Stevens is making headers on corner kicks an art form as she put the ball in the back of the net off an Alison Fliegel corner. The left wingers gave us nice passing from Mary Hess and speed from Michele Galante. Michele has been hitting her shots and today, due to her fine second effort, tied the game on the second goal of the day. Although the Stray Cats clawed their way back twice to tie the score, today just wasn't our day.
Stray Cats 4 -
NPT/CH Blue Shadow 3
In a thrilling contest against the tough NPT/CH Blue Shadow, the Stray Cats earned a 4-3 victory. X'Ania Saldana making her return to the Stray Cats combined with Viki Nikic in net to shut the door on the Shadow. Alison Fliegel found her shot in the first half rocketing a missile off her left foot for the first goal. Northport came back to tie the score but Simone Russo showed today why she is a big addition to the team as she put NHP on top with a goal in the right corner. Simone earned her first assist of the season passing to Jessie Busardo who rifled a shot past the dazed Shadow keeper. Anyone who's watched the Blue Shadow know they are an explosive team and in the second half came back with two goals, one coming from a penalty kick. Determined was the word for the day as the Stray Cats got their groove. Excellent second half play from midfielders Katie Mooney, Megan Stevens and Alyson Rose frustrated the strong Shadow attack. Lauren DeSimone, Kristina DiCostanzo and Kathleen Flaherty were dazzling in the backfield. With the score knotted, Katie expertly lifted a corner shot in front of the net. The crowd held their breath as Megan came from the left side and guided the ball in the corner of the net for the game winner.

Home Team Comments: Warriors could keep up with Titans just first half, in which Warriors had four goal-scoring chances. Aaron Weinstock, Jakub Dosoudil, Nicholas Clifford and Evan Leung could score only ones in first half. Second half was built on tough defense of the Titans and their quick breaks.
