Well, the end of another sports season has come at New Hyde Park. The New Hyde Park Gladiators had another great football season. They went 4-4 and had many key plays as well as key players. There will be 17 senior players graduating this year and making room for new and upcoming players. Coach Dolan, who was the Varsity head coach for his first full season, says, "I had a lot of fun coaching, despite all of the obstacles the team had to overcome and look forward to next year. Once again, thanks guys for a great season and 'Good Luck' next year!"
Also ending was girls' and boys' soccer, who had great seasons, both making the playoffs and adding more excitement to the school. Both Mr. Scott and Mr. Magyar did a great job coaching. The teams worked hard and played great for a wonderful season.
Finally, we had girls' Field Hockey ending. This year six seniors will be leaving the team and wishing good luck to next year's girls. Both coaches, Suppa-McKeough and Heaney gave it their all and coached great. The Field Hockey also made the playoffs and had a fantastic season.
Upcoming in New Hyde Park's sports schedule are Boys' and Girls' Basketball, Rifle and Girls Gymnastics. Their new seasons are sure to be action-packed and highly enjoyable. We at New Hyde Park look forward to seeing them play and wish them good luck and nothing but success!
