Dr. Barnes Named Administrator of the Year
Dr. Ronald Barnes, Interim Superintendent of Herricks Public Schools, was named Administrator of the Year by Nassau School Library System. Dr. Barnes was chosen for this prestigious honor in recognition and appreciation of his many outstanding contributions and support of the advancement of information services. He was also cited for his work and positive input in helping to make the Herricks School District Library/Media Centers among the most outstanding in Nassau County. He was presented with a plaque by Carol Kroll, supervisor of the Nassau Library System and Marge Harrison, chairperson at their annual meeting.

State Bank of Long Island Holds Holiday Program at AHRC
Last week, as he has been doing for almost 20 years, State Bank of Long Island Senior Vice President Robert Valli of New Hyde Park with his trusty guitar led a caravan of State Bank volunteers to the Association For the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC) Day Treatment Center in Brookville to entertain the clients with holiday songs.

Football, Soccer and Hockey Ends Season
Well, the end of another sports season has come at New Hyde Park. The New Hyde Park Gladiators had another great football season. They went 4-4 and had many key plays as well as key players. There will be 17 senior players graduating this year and making room for new and upcoming players. Coach Dolan, who was the Varsity head coach for his first full season, says, "I had a lot of fun coaching, despite all of the obstacles the team had to overcome and look forward to next year. Once again, thanks guys for a great season and 'Good Luck' next year!"
