Due to the fast action of the Garden City Park Fire Department and the Williston Park Fire Department tragedy was averted when fire in a house on Brunswick Avenue, Garden City Park, erupted.

Herricks Board to Meet With Architect
At the last Herricks School Board meeting it was announced that on Oct. 11 the board will meet with Herricks architect John Grillo at 6 p.m. to go over his preliminary plans for reconstruction of the schools approved by the voters in the bond vote. The meeting will be open to the public and will be held at the Herricks Community Center.

Runners/Walkers
Runners/walkers of every age and ability are invited to be part of 13th Oyster Festival 5-Kilometer Run to be held Oct 14 to kick off this year's Oyster Festival. The run will start in Fireman's Field in Oyster Bay at exactly 9 a.m. and is sponsored again by State Bank of Long Island, the New Hyde Park based bank and the Town of Oyster Bay.
