After a rather long and involved discussion, the Herricks School Board voted to reduce its tax rate. Therefore, the rate previously mentioned in the budget bulletin, in the amount of $246.69 per household, has been reduced to approximately $184.50 per household. This was accomplished by reducing the tax rate by first $1, 250,000 and then by $655,016. This reduction was due to the administration and the board being fiscally responsible and making the tough decisions regarding the operation of the school.
