Herricks Board Votes to Reduce Tax Rate
After a rather long and involved discussion, the Herricks School Board voted to reduce its tax rate. Therefore, the rate previously mentioned in the budget bulletin, in the amount of $246.69 per household, has been reduced to approximately $184.50 per household. This was accomplished by reducing the tax rate by first $1, 250,000 and then by $655,016. This reduction was due to the administration and the board being fiscally responsible and making the tough decisions regarding the operation of the school. The board voted unanimously for the resolution to establish the 2000/01 tax levy.
