Possible Revision of Class Guidelines at Herricks
Superintendent Dr. Ronald Barnes explained in discussing the revision of class size guidelines that at this time there is no move to change the class guidelines because there is no necessity at this time. However, he explained that there is no way of predicting what will happen on Sept. 5th when school opens and therefore the district needs to be prepared to look at the present guidelines.

Village of New Hyde Park to Post No Standing Signs Near School
In a lengthly discussion among New Hyde Park Board members in response to residents' concerns for school parking, it was decided that signs would be posted on Belmont Avenue that would state "no standing." It was the feeling of the board that there are "no parking" signs in the area, but if parents are just "standing" and waiting for their children that does not constitute "parking." This situation has come to a head during the Summer Reading Program when parents are dropping off and picking up their children.
