Last week New York Lottery Director Margaret De Francisco and Goodwill Games officials gathered at New Hyde Park Memorial High School to present a $1,000 computer package to the school which is part of the overall prize package won by Memorial student Stefanie Weitzel as part of their participation in the Winter Achievers program. Last Saturday was a picture perfect day as the Annual New Hyde Park Memorial Day Parade participants assembled on Hillside Boulevard. The parade marched east on Jericho first to the memorial on the grounds of New Hyde Park Village that holds all the names of the New Hyde Park veterans and then on to New Hyde Park Memorial Park where another set of ceremonies was held. The Hillside Beverage team played a tough game against New Hyde Park but lost by the score 8-5. Mary Elyse Janowski and Nicky Krems had good games at second base. Lauren Scida, Victoria Pisciotta, and Maggie Morrisey were each on base several times. Kim Stein and Danielle Lutz had great games behind the plate. Victoria and Maggie pitched very well.
