  • SPORTS: New Hyde park Wildcats Soccer Roundup

The results of today's game are what you might have expected when you match up two divisional rivals who have shutout their opponents in five of six league games. In a very competitive match the Stray Cats shut out the Magic to pick up another point in the division and remain undefeated. Keeper Vikki Nikic earned her sixth league shutout with a stellar performance in the net. Katie Mooney played a tireless game running the length of the field non-stop. Kristina DiCostanzo was at her best denying a speedy Magic attack the opportunity to shoot. Beth DeMarco showed determination in tracking down her opponents. Today marked the first game of the year the Sray Cat offense was shut down. This was attributed to a stingy Magic defense and due to no lack of effort by our offense. Delia Mueller as in the center of the action crossing the ball in fornt of the net. Jessica Busardo was around the goal the entire game and it seemed it was just a matter of time until the ball found the goal. Michele Galante used her speed down the left wing passing the ball to our strikers. This was a big point to get in the standings with just two musts win games left. Next weekend the Stray Cats get a well deserved rest from league and Cup play and have the opportnity to tune up our game and enjoy each other's company. After that it's the semis of State, Waldbaum's and the chance to take the divisional title. Let's go Stray Cats! FULL STORY
