The New Hyde Park PAL Unit just announced the retirement of its longtime Director/Police Officer Dennis Jutze. He is second in tenure to the legendary Bill Murphy who spent 25 years at the helm of the New Hyde Park PAL.

Frustrated Residents Demand DEC Hearing on Lockheed
After many years of what residents call evasive answers and incomplete information regarding the 93 acres of property recently sold, again, by Lockheed Martin, members of five New Hyde Park civic associations came out in full force Monday night at a meeting called by the civic associations to protest the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) issuance of an obscure legal notice for a Record of Decision (ROD) which would bring to a hasty close to the method of cleanup by Lockheed of the contaminated discharge basins on the property Lockheed property. The New Hyde Park Runners Club, in conjunction this year with the New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, will hold its 23rd Annual 5 Mile Run and 1 Mile Fun Run on June 4, rain or shine to start at the Denton Avenue School, Denton Avenue, New Hyde Park. The One Mile Fun Run will be held at 8:50 a.m. with the 5 Mile Run following at 9:15 a.m.
