Waste Management Diamondbacks 10

This was a "bust out" game for the Red Sox. A blistering first inning attack was led by Sal Heinrich's three run home run. All of the Red Sox were pounding the leather including Vishal Vaghela, 2 for 3, and Chris Ganz who pitched and had a double.

Solid defensive work by Derek Chung, John Morana and Tim Campbell. A solid first victory for the Red Sox.

Merillon - CDM Tire - Yankees 7

Merillon - NHP Stationary Red Sox 5

Great game by the CDM Tire-Yankees. Great pitching by Chris DiCerbo, Jamie Brolly and Timmy Hanna. DiCerbo, along with Tommy Brennan, D.J. Gerowski, Stephen Kostel, Ronnie Malilo and Andrew Sanchez, provided strong offense. Stellar defense once again by Nick Jandovitz and Nick Obidienzo.

A tough loss to a game CDM Tire team. Pedro Suarez led the attack with a three bagger and a single. Solid hitting from Mike Colavito who hurled three strong innings as well. Good hustle from Vincent Lau, Tom Ferrara and Chris Loizzo. Thanks to Merillon Minor Leaguers Warren Kelly and Paul Cunningham who helped fill in and played well for the Red Sox. Keep up the solid offense Red Sox.

Lazio Pizza Tigers 13

Detailz of NHP Orioles 4

The Lazio Pizza Tigers won their fourth straight game, beating Detailz of NHP Orioles 13-4 in Merillon Minors baseball action. Lazio Pizza overcame a rocky first inning to improve their record to four wins and no losses. D.J. Gerowski led the Tigers with two home runs and a single. D.J.'s offensive explosion combined with two innings of pitching earned him the "game ball." Joe Baghai hit a grand slam homer and shut down the Orioles over the final three innings. Paul Cunningham had a two-run homer and did a great job behind the plate. Mike Rocco and Dan Graham provided some slick defensive plays to keep the Tigers in the game early. Robert Fauri was "Charlie Hustle" around the bases, scoring an important run for Lazio Pizza.

Caruso Barbers Blue Jays 7

Dr. Onorato Astros 10

It was a tough loss for the Caruso Barbers Blue Jays. The Jays hung in there all the way against the hard hitting Dr. Onorato Astros but came up short despite another sixth inning rally. Tim Heckman was superb in his pitching debut. Nick Lipinski and Michael Pucci also had strong outings on the mound. These pitchers were backed up with some great fielding. Awesome fielding plays were turned in by Paul Conte, Gabe Gonzalas, Bob Montoni, Michael Jandovitz, Anthony Perrone and Michael Marsigliano. The stage was then set for the sixth inning. Trailing by six runs Anthony Zammit led off with a three base hit. Mike Marsigliano and Gabe Gonzalas were both NBP to load the bases. Up stepped Neil Bisciello who smacked a bases clearing triple to make the game close. Good job Jays!

An outstanding game by all Dr. Onorato Dermatology Astros in a 10-7 win. The win was sealed when Brett Spielberg blasted a three run homer in the fourth inning. Robbie Felazzo, Zack Ricciusa and Eddie Kalinowski each had three hits. Leo Varghese and John Ferlazzo had two hits each. Sammy Wilbur, John Weitzel and Chris Lobise each added a hit for the offense. Fine defense by Richard Caruso, Brett S. and Leo V. Robbie F. and Chris L. pitched a great game.

Celleni Lodge Reds 3

NHP Wireless Mariners edged the Celleni Lodge Reds in a well pitched game by both teams. The Mariners jumped out to the early lead behind the hitting of Patrick Ambrosio who had three hits and three RBI's. Chris Murphy pitched four solid innings and Vishal Patel took over from there. Ethan Loosen provided solid catching. Michael Fenestner and Chris Ambrosio reached base all three times. John Hunt had a hit and a run scored. Michael Cracchiola had two hits. Jon Paul Dimarco had an RBI and good shortstop play from Chris Ganz and Robert Maer.

Marlins 14

The day was perfect for baseball. Finally a perfect day in a seesaw battle which ended in a 14-14 tie. Dylan Brolly and Peter Pecora, Chris Sanchez, Joe Moran had four hits each. Lou Zaremba, Kevin Seger and Jason Gomez had three hits each. Dylan Brolly made the catch of the day diving to catch a line drive at shortstop.

May 1

Indians 12 Expos 11

Great game by all Delizia Expos and a great comeback by the Indians who scored five runs in the sixth inning. Lou Zaremba, Kevin Seger, Gershon Baines, Andrew Piacek, Sean Martillo, Michael Reali hit great. Peter Pecora, Dylan Brolly, Joe Marana, Chris Sanchez starred on defense. Jason Gomez led the way with four hits and four RBI's.

April 29

Hair Debonnaire 12 Virgilio Chiropractic 7

The Hair Debonnaire Cubs played Virgilio Chiropractic Indians and won the game by the score of 12-7. The game was well played by both teams with the game being decided in the last inning. The hitting stars of the game were Max Devene, Chris Pisciotta, Kyle Brennan, Matthew Magenheim and Alex Theodores. Babe Miller has a strong game behind the plate. Well done Hair Debonnaire Cubs.

Hair Debonnaire 5 Pace Pharmacy 4

The Hair Debonnaire Cubs played the Pace Pharmacy Braves and won the game by the score of 5-4. The game was well played by both teams with a total of 28 (of a possible 36) outs being made in the field. The hitting stars of the game were Eric Doreste, Michael Durante, Max Devane and Tommy Campbell. Chris Pisciotta and James Regan had tremendous days in the field. The play of the game was Michel Fishkin throwing out a runner at first base from short center field. Well done, Hair Debonnaire Cubs.

May 1

Marlins vs. Giants

The ABC Rental Marlins hosted the D & E Roofing Giants for a terrific game. There were some great hits by Tyler Iocco, Anthony Orrino, Nicky Sinorelli and Justin Weiss. Fielding was strong with Daniel Saraceno, Alex Bruschi and Aneesh Sanhi. Matthew Dillon was aggressive behind the plate (watch out Mike Piazza!). Zachary Aziz and Carmelo showed some sharp running skills. We hope Brian Lovisek is feeling better. We look forward to taking him off the injured reserved list. It was a great game!

May 5

Port Washington 8

The O'Brien Sluggers were really slugging the ball tonight in a great game in Port Washington "under the lights." Our star of the game had to be Carla Campagna pitching three shutout innings, only giving up two hits and striking out seven batters. Carla was also 3 for 3 at bat, and drew a walk. Jaclyn Liebowitz also pitched well going three innings and striking out five batters. Jaclyn also contributed at the plate going 2 for 4. We had a lot of star batters tonight. Jennifer Fazzolari and Jessica Phillips were both 3 for 4, Nicole Daly was 2 for 4 and Julia Diolallevi was 2 for 3, all getting key hits. Julianne Saraceno, Sara Pascucci and Jacqueline O'Connell all know how to get on base. Between the three girls, they drew eight walks! A walk is as good as a hit! Simone Morrow played good defense at first base and Erin McGillicuddy also got a key hit and played solid defense. We are now 3-0, we won this game 14-8. Great team work!

The girls from Stuzmann Funeral home rebounded from a 7-0 deficit to take a lead of 11-7 only to lose on strong timely hitting in the last inning. Our pitching stars were Stacy Denison and Kerri Ann Rudd. Stacy made a great back hand catch of a line drive at the mound. Sally Palmer made two great catches in left field. Karen Ernst made a catch of a pop fly at her catcher's position and threw out two runners stealing. Our hitting stars were Danielle young (triple, two walks), Stacy Denison (two walks), Kerrian Rudd (three walks), Jessica Schacor (triple, walk, stole home), Karen Ernst (single, walk), Sally Palmer (single, walk, two runs scored), Karen Trebing (triple, single, two runs scored), Kaitlyn Kerrane (two singles and great base running), Kara Tloczkowski (single getting two important RBI's), Stephanie Ligouri and Stefanie Weitzel who hit the ball hard and were robbed each time.

Glen Oaks 12

The girls from Stutzmann Funeral Home won their first game of the year outhitting the Glen Oaks team. The pitching stars were Stefanie Weitzel and Jessica Schacor. Stefanie caught two high flies a the mound. Jessica also caught and threw a runner out at second with a perfect throw with Kerri Ann Rudd making a great tag. Karen Trebing caught a line drive at first going into foul territory. The hitting stars were Kaitlyn Kerrane (single, walk, three runs scored), Karen Trebing (two singles, two doubles, four runs scored), Kerri Ann Rudd (double, triple, three runs scored), Jessica Schacor (HR, triple, single, three runs scored), Stefanie Weitzel (two walks), Karen Ernst (single, walk). Danielle Young (two singles), Stacy Denison (single), Stephanie Ligouri (single, two walks), Sally Palmer (double, single, walk, three runs scored), Stephanie Vitable (three singles) and Christina Lipinski (single).

April 28

Hillside Beverage 7 Mineola 4

The Hillside Beverage team beat Mineola by the score of 7-4 with both teams playing very well. Maggie Morissey, Christine Cannella and Victoria Pisciotta all strong outings on the mound for the Hillside Beverage team. Nicky Krams, Brynn Dowdell and Nicole Kimkowski got on base eight times to start many of the rallies. Mary Elyse Janowski had strong single in the top of the fifth. Kim Stein had a great game behind the plate.

Well done Hillside Beverage.

April 29

Hillside Beverage 8 Glen Oaks 13

The Hillside Beverage team lost a close game to Glen Oaks by the score of 13-8.Faith Shea and Maggie Morissey had great days on the mound. Danielle Lutz and Victoria Pisciotta both had long home runs. Caitlin Patruccio had a hard single in the third inning and scored several batters later. Nicky Krems played two strong innings at second base. It was a close game that could have gone either way.

We will get them next time. Nice try girls!

April 30

Williston Orthodontics 8 T.F. O'Brien & Co., Inc.

The Williston Orthodontics Angels just missed getting the win in a well played game. Katie Flynn and Ann Mrie McHale were the pitching stars. Great catching by Lauren Ernst, Eileen Dillon and Samantha Sanginiti. Christina Del Signore made a great play throwing out a runner at first from her right field position. Katie Flynn caught a grounder at the mound and tagged a runner going home. Meghan Senk made a great one hard hop catch at short. Lauren Ernst had two walks and two runs. Karina Tamara had two singles and a walk. Katie Flynn had a double and a triple. Ann Marie McHale had a single and a walk. Allison Triptree had a single, two walks and three runs scored. Eileen Dillon had three walks. Christina Del Signore had two walks. Meghan Senk had a walk and a single. Samantha Sanginiti had two singles. Colleen Sanders had a single and was robbed in her two other at bats. Aileen McGonigle hit the ball hard.

The O'Brien Sluggers were terrific in their second game of the season. We had great pitching by Jaclyn Liebowitz and Carla Campagna, both striking out two batters and only giving up one run each. We had great defense and fielding by Julianne Saraceno, Erin McGillicuddy, Sara Pascucci and Valerie Fiore. Going into the fifth inning, we were down by a score of 8-1. Suddenly, the girls came alive and managed to get on base. Nicole Daly, Jaclyn Liebowitz, Jennifer Fazzolari, Jessica Phillips, Simone Morrow, Jacqueline O'Connell, Kathleen Nicolello and Julia Diolallevi all got on base and scored, making it a nail-biting, come-from-behind victory by a score of 9-8. The girls really played as a team. Good going girls!

May 4

Williston Orthodontics 13 Port Washington 6

The Williston Orthodontics Angels out hit a tough Port Washington team. The pitching stars were Katie Flynn, Lauren Ernst and Ann Marie McHale. All the girls got many hits, with Karina Tamara, Katie Flynn and Samantha Sanginiti hitting line drives into the outfield. Tricia Philbin and Meghan Senk each scored two runs. Victoria Caniano shook off getting hit by a pitch to get on base and scoring an important run. Allison Triptree and Karina Tamara played great at catcher. Lauren Ernst made a great play at first base. Colleen Sanders and Ann Marie McHale continued their hot hitting. Christina Del Signore, Aileen McGonigle and Eileen Dillon played aggressive in the field and at bat.
