The Pace Pharmacy Braves defeated the H. Edwards Athletics by a score of 10-4.
The Braves jumped out to a quick lead with a first inning four run rally led by Steven Phillips, Kenny Richards and Ryan Conerty.
The Braves' leak-tight defense only surrendered four runs on nine hits to seal the victory. An outstanding effort by Drew Carrick in right field shut down a late game threat by the Athletics.

The Hair Debonnaire Cubs beat Delizia Restaurant Expos by score of 9-4 in a well played game. The hitting stars for the Hair Debonnaire Cubs were Thomas Venske, Matthew Magenheim, Tommy Campbell, Michael Durante, James Regan and Kyle Brennan. Kyle drove in three runs with a triple in the third inning. Gabe Miller had a strong two innings behind the plate.

ABC Rental Expos 4
The Hair Debonnaire Cubs beat the ABC Rental Expos by the score of 5-4. The game was well played and was decided in the final inning. Tommy Campbell, James Regan, Max Devane and Chris Pisciotta were the hitting stars. Max and Chris had extra base hits that turned the game around. The Cubs made some nice plays in the field but narrowly missed the players at first. Nice game boys! Get well Erik!
Marlins vs. Expos
The Merillon Marlins sponsored by ABC Rental were off to a great start in the first inning. There was good hitting by Tyler Iocco, Zachary Aziz and Alex Bruschi who all went 4 for 4. The Expos made some good defensive plays. Nicky Sinorelli led a rally in the last inning with a single. Later that inning Brian Lovisek hit a double that cleared the bases. There were some great plays made in the field by Aneesh Sahni, Carmelo Carbone, Robert Baghai and Thomas Pernicicaro. Fantastic catching by Justin Weiss and Daniel Saraceno. Both teams played a great game.

Caruso Haircutters Blue Jays 8
NHP Wireless Mariners and Caruso Haircutters Blue Jays ended in an 8-8 tie. The Mariners took the early lead but the Blue Jays came back to tie the game. Ethan Loosen pitched three solid innings and added (3 h, 3 runs), Chris Murphy (2 h, HR), John Ganz added an RBI and ( pitched), Chris and Patrick Ambrosio and Jon Paul DiMarco each added a couple of hits and runs scored. Michael Crachhiola provided solid catching (1h, 1 RBI) and Gary O'Keefe played good defense along with solid contributions from Chris Pisciotta and Max Devane who were called up from the farms division due to a shortage of players.

NHP Wireless Mariners opened their season with a 7-5 loss against the Lazio Pizza Tigers. The Mariners took an early lead behind the pitching and hitting of Chris Murphy but the Tigers came back and took the lead for good in the fourth inning. Ethan Loosen scored a pair of runs along with Michael Cracchiola. Solid defensive play from Patrick and Chris Ambrosio, John Ganz, John Hunt, Gary O'Keefe, Michael Fensterer and Jon Paul DiMarco. Vishal Patel pitched a scoreless fifth.

NHP Wireless Mariners won their first game of the season with a 14-7 win over the Nuzzi Fuel Devil Rays. It was a total team effort with Robert Maer making his season with (3h, 5 RBI), Ethan Loosen (3h, 5rs), Chris Murphy (3h, 3 RBI), Michael Cracchiola (3h, 3rs), Patrick and Chris Ambrosio reached base eight times combined. John Ganz pitched one solid inning and made a sparkling play at shortstop. Vishal Patel pitched two solid innings. Jon Paul DiMarco and Gary O'Keefe each hat a hit.

NHP Wireless Mariners 5
The Lazio Pizza Tigers used a six run fourth inning rally to come from behind and beat the NHP Wireless Mariners 7 - 5, in the opening game of the season April 19. Nick Rocco had a two RBI double to start the game-winning rally. Paul Cunningham and Robert Fauci both had timely hits to keep the rally going. D.J. Gerowski started and pitched out of trouble in the first two innings, while Joe BAghai came on to shut the Mariners down with three scoreless innings to end the game. Lazio Pizza used some great outfield play from Nick Rocco, Jeff Sallusto and Danny Sasso to stop a last inning rally by the Mariners. Nick Rocco was awarded the game ball for his clutch hitting and solid outfield play.
Caruso Haricutter Blue Jays vs.
NHP Wireless Mariners
What a great way to open the 2000 season. It was a nail biter all the way between the Caruso Haircutter Blue Jays and the NHP Wireless Mariners. This action-packed game had everything and ended in a 8 to 8 tie. This was a well played ball game by both teams. The Blue Jays were stellar in the field with great plays made by Anthony Perrone, Gabe Gonzalas, Michael Jandovitz and Bob Montoni. Neil Bisciello and Anthony Zammit both did an outstanding job behind the plate. The slugging stars for the Jays were Timmy Heckman who started a five run rally in the bottom of the forth inning, followed by a long double off the bat of Paul Conte down the left field line. The pitching was also superb with strong outings by Michael Santalesa, Nick Lipinski and Michael Pucci. Nice job boys!
Cellini Lodge Reds vs.
Details of NHP Orioles
The Cellini Lodge Reds opened the season with a 2-0 victory over the Details Orioles. The game was a pitching duel between both teams. Matt Simms pitched a great game followed by Andrew Montoni surrendering three hits between the two of them. The Reds getting only three hits of their own and timely walks produced the only two runs. The defense held solid over six innings with James Clark, Desi Farrell, Sean Carton and Max keeping the Orioles' runners from advancing with balls hit to the outfield. The infielders consisting of Jonathon, Nick, Michael, Matt B. and Tony behind the plate played flawlessly. Great job guys.

Caruso Haircutters Blue Jays 1
The Lazio Pizza Tigers outlasted the Caruso Haircutters Blue Jays 8-1, on a miserable night for baseball in Boys Minors action April 26. With temperatures in the forties and off and on rain throughout the game, Lazio Pizza used some timely hitting and strong pitching for their second win of the season. Joe Baghai, Paul Cunningham, Ed Daly and D.J. Gerowski each had two hits. Ed Daly, D.J. Gerowski and Nick Rocco combined pitching to hold Caruso Haircutters to just one run. Paul Cunningham won game ball honors with his clutch hitting and terrific job catching four innings in the tough weather conditions.

Cellini Lodge Reds
This one had all the excitement of a major league playoff game between two awesome teams the Cellini Lodge Reds and the Caruso Haircutters Blue Jays. The Blue Jays were trailing the Reds when they staged a last inning comeback but came up short to the hard hitting Reds. Leading the Blue Jays offensively were Nick Lipinski, Anthony Zammit, Tim Heckman and Michael Pucci. In the field the Jays were outstanding with great defensive plays by Gabe Gonzalas, Bob Montoni, Anthony Perrone, Michael Santalesa, Paul Conte and Michael Jandovitz. Neil Bisciello did a stellar job catching. Keep up the good work Jays!
Cellini Lodge Reds vs.
Caruso Haircutters Blue Jays
The Cellini Lodge Reds' bats came to life in this game. Led by Desi Farrell 3-3, Nick Cusamano and Sean Carton each going 3-4, the team banged out many hits. Great pitching by Andrew Montoni, Desi Farrell and Jonathan Defelice. Terrific play by catcher Tony Peverraro jumping on a slow walk toward third base and diving to his left tagging the oncoming runner from third to record the out. Patience, timely hitting at the plate by Matt Simms, James Clark and Michael Guglielmi producing runs, and great defensive play by the entire Celleni Lodge Reds helped seal the 15-7 victory.
Astros vs. Tigers
Great effort by all. Dr. Onorato-Dermatology Astros in a tough 17-11 loss. The Astros offense was led by Chris Lodise (8 hits, 6 RBIs), Robbie Ferlazzo (2 hits, 3 stolen bases), Sammy Wiebur, Zach Santangelo, Leo Varghese and Eddie Kazinowski. John Ferazzo had four walks and two stolen bases. Solid defense by Brett Spielberg and Ryan McNulty.

Dr. Onorato Dermatology 12
The Lazio Pizza Tigers out-slugged the Dr. Onorato-Dermatology Astros 17-12 in Merillon Boys Minors Little League action April 30. Five Tigers had multi-hit games, including D.J. Gerowski who started the slugfest with a first inning grand slam home run. D.J. added a single and a double to complete his five RBI game. Ed Daly had two hits and scored four runs; Paul Cunningham and Nick Rocco both went 2 for 3 and scored twice. Warren Kelly was 3 for 4 and pitched two strong innings in his first pitching action of the season. Warren's combination of hitting and pitching earned him the game ball for the Tigers. D.J. Gerowski pitched two scoreless innings to get the win for Lazio Pizza. Danny Sasso and Jeff Sallusto each scored two runs. Paul Cunningham made two fantastic plays at first base in the last inning to help stop a late rally by Dr. Onorato.

This was the best Red Sox offensive performance of the year. Tom Ferraro led all hitters with a home run. Good hitting by Pedro Suarez who singled a scored run. Vishal Vaghela swung the bat as did Chris Ganz and Tim Campbell. Strong defense by John Morana, Andy Richardson and Sal Heinrich. The Red Sox are progressing well and with some more hard work will take home a victory. Keep up the good effort men.

Stutzman Funeral Home lost their home opener to a tough Port Washington team. Karen Ernst, Sally Palmer and Stephanie Ligouri each had a single. Kerri Ann Rudd a double, two singles and three runs scored. Stefanie Weitzel and Karen Trebing had two singles. Kaitlyn Kerrane had three singles. Danielle Young had a single and two walks. Karen Trebing made two unassisted double plays at first base. Karen Ernst, Stacy Denison and Stefanie Weitzel played great at catcher. Stefanie Weitzel and Kerri Ann Rudd pitched great. Danielle Young played great at first. Stephanie Ligouri made a great play at short.

The Williston Orthodontics outhit Glen Oaks in their first game of the season. The star of the game was Katie Flynn who had two huge home runs, a triple, and 11 RBI's. Katie also pitched three great innings. Meghan Senk scored three runs with four walks. Christina Del Signore had three hits. Eileen Dillon hit the ball hard and made great plays from her catcher's position. Tricia Philbin had two hits and two runs scored and made terrific plays at first base. Colleen Sanders had two hits and two runs scored. Alison Triptree had a hit and a run scored. Lauren Ernst had two hits, two runs scored and pitched the last inning. Ann Marie McHale hit the ball hard and made all three outs for our defense in the first inning. Samantha Sanginitti had three walks and scored a run. Samantha also made a great play at second base.

New Hyde Park
The Williston Orthodontics were defeated by a very good New Hyde Park team. Karina Tamara had two singles, walk and a run. Alison Triptree had two singles and a walk. Ann Marie McHale had a walk and stole third. Ann Marie made her season debut at pitcher and did a great job. Katie Flynn had a single and two runs scored. She was robbed of an extra base hit by a great catch by NHP. Christina Del Signore had a walk and a run scored. Colleen Sanders had a single, walk and a run scored. Meghan Senk had two singles and a walk. Meghan did a tremendous job at shortstop with both fielding and throwing. Samantha hit the ball hard in each at bat. Aileen McGonigle had a walk and a run scored. Jackie Triptree came up from the Minors to help us and did a great job.

Merillon's Hillside Beverage team beat New Hyde Park by the final score of 10-6. The Hillside Beverage team was led by Maggie Morissey, Christina Canella, Kim Stein and Victoria Pisciotta at the plate. They scorched the ball each at bat. Caitlin Petruccio was the pitching star, going three innings and giving up only three runs. Danielle Lutz made several nice pick-ups at first base. Great start girls! Keep it going.
