The Herricks School District held a special election on Tuesday to allow voters to vote on two separate bond propositions; one for a $39.5 million dollar bond to enlarge the elementary schools, build new science labs, create an all-day kindergarten and build an all-weather track. The second proposition was to construct a new auditorium at the high school for $7 million. Both were resoundingly defeated.

The total vote in all three schools for Proposition No. 1 - Yes: 1,068; No: 1,670

The total vote in all three schools for Proposition No. 2 - Yes: 908; No: 1,757

The Herricks School Board will hold its next school board meeting on May 4 at 7:15 p.m. at the Herricks Community Center.
