Bond Resoundingly Defeated
The Herricks School District held a special election on Tuesday to allow voters to vote on two separate bond propositions; one for a $39.5 million dollar bond to enlarge the elementary schools, build new science labs, create an all-day kindergarten and build an all-weather track. The second proposition was to construct a new auditorium at the high school for $7 million. Both were resoundingly defeated.

Rudaitis Asks for Volunteers to Form a Pre-K Advisory Board
New Hyde Park/Garden City Park School Superintendent Joseph Rudaitis announced that the district is seeking volunteers to help establish a Pre-Kindergarten Policy Advisory Board.

New Hyde Park Wildcats Soccer Roundup
The New Hyde Park Stormcats beat the much improved Merrick Aruzzi 2-1 in a hard fought battle. The defense was superb as always. Led by Robert Morici, Robby Kassoff, Justin Brobst, John Yom, Michael McHale and Alex Neystat. Merrick had trouble adjusting or taking advantage of any situation. Each boy knows exactly what his partners' moves will be so no one has to do it alone. Goalkeeping was fabulous led by Eric Andreuzzi and Chris Sawicki.
