In listing Lisanti's many accomplishments for both the town and for the school district in New Hyde Park, Newburger mentioned the fact that during her more than 40 years as a resident of New Hyde Park Lisanti has been involved in every phase of the Parent/Teacher Association at the New Hyde Park/Garden City Park School District holding the position of president in every PTA in which she was involved. She was such a dedicated representative and so involved that she was made a lifetime member of the New York State Parent Teacher Association. Further, she is on the school Wellness Committee and worked hard to start that project which is now an annual event.
When Lisanti was elected to the New Hyde Park Village Board she continued on as the New Hyde Park Village Historian and in that position has graced village hall walls with many marvelous photos of early New Hyde Park that she rescued from various sources Through her innovative thinking and hard work she started a New Hyde Park Village Fair, which has grown and thrived through the years under her direction.
Further, she is a member of the Water Authority of Western Nassau and acts as a "watch dog" for that organization. Prior to that position, before she was a trustee, she was instrumental along with the other civic leaders in ending the reign of Jamaica Water and forming the new water authority that has resulted in lower water rates to the residents of New Hyde Park as well as to the other residents affected by the then Jamaica Water Supply Company.
Lisanti is also involved in the Nassau County Village Officials Association and is on its Educational Committee.
Lisanti exudes energy and there is no task too great for her to tackle, all you have to do is ask. The residents of the Village of New Hyde Park are lucky to have her as their deputy mayor.
