The Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce held its Installation of Officers and was quite crowded last week in spite of the zero degree weather and the icy conditions. The event was held at Montebello Restaurant, Hillside Avenue, New Hyde Park, and local attorney David Goodsell was installed again as president.

In his acceptance speech Goodsell said that the "mission statement" for the chamber is as follows, "The Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce is the platform for businesses to provide leadership, education and advocacy so that the Greater New Hyde Park area thrives in the 21st Century."
Goodsell continued, "The chamber is comprised of business people committed to improving the economic climate and quality of life in the Greater New Hyde Park area. The strength of the chamber lies in the size and diversity of the membership. Both large and small businesses from virtually every profession are represented. The members are the chamber."
Along with Goodsell the following officers were installed: First Vice President, Peter Caputo; Second Vice President Mary Ellen Divone; Third Vice President John Suprenant; Secretary Virginia Koehler and Treasurer Joseph Palazzolo.
Directors installed include: Lawrence Anderer, Thomas Arnone, David Browne, James DeGraff Carr, Linda Cutter, Richard DeMartino, Ronald Ferrara, Patricia DeMasi, Florence Giannattasio, Judith Harbison, Harold Orr, Angela Powers, Joseph Provenzano, Karl Rueck and Paul Wesoly.
