Pace Pharmacy vs. Williston Orthodontics

The Pace Pharmacy Pals played a terrific game against Williston Orthodontics. All the girls on both teams played extremely well. Our hitting stars tonight were Julianne Saraceno, who was 4 for 4 hitting rockets up the middle, Julie Hundertmark, who was 3 for 3 also hitting good solid shots, and Jennifer Fazzolari, who is a terrific lead-off hitter, getting on base and using her speed every time. We had phenomenal plays in the field by Jacqueline O'Connell, Alyssa Micelli, and Christina Stone who made great attempts at throwing the runners out at home plate. Jaclyn Liebowitz and Nicole Daly played terrific at first base. We also had great hitting, fielding and team spirit from Amelia Dicicco, Meaghan Fitzpatrick, Katie Hundertmark, Kathleen Nicolello, and Valerie Fiore. Keep up those chants girls; it shows real team spirit!

Kiwanis Club 7 - Port Washington 7

Chrissy Colon led the Red Hot Chili Peppers with her glove and her bat. She went 2 for 2 with a walk and a dramatic grand slam to dead centerfield. In the field, Chrissy made several sharp plays, including a dramatic game saving throw to get the last out in the sixth inning with the help of a fine stretch by Meghan Morrisey at first base. Kelly Geus was a stand out at the bat with three hits and did a fine job behind the plate. Tara Marsigliano and Meghan Morrisey split the pitching duty and held the line. The potential winning run for Port Washington was gunned down at third base by a heads up throw from Elyse Petruccio in left field to Jamie Tierran, who applied the tag to preserve the tie.

Kiwanis Club 4 - Meldon Silverman 11

The Red Hot Chili Peppers fell to Meldon Silverman despite a fine pitching performance turned in by Elyse Petruccio and Chrissy Colon. Meaghan Morrisey had two hits and played a solid first base. Jenna Caputo went 1-2 with a strong single and did an outstanding job behind the plate, sharing the catching duties with Vanessa Yu. Kelly Gues was the hitting star of the game going 2-3 with two RBIs - that makes it five hits in her last six at bats. Once again, the girls have a great effort.

Kiwanis Club 7 - New Hyde Park 15

Erin Shea was the offensive star of the game with a hard single, a walk and a run scored. Maryann Karaholis was the defensive star at third base making a trmendous play on a hard line drive. Maggie Morrisey had her first hit playing up in the majors for the first time. Elyse Petruccio went 1-2 with two RBIs. The Red Hot Chili Peppers gave a great effort in spite of being down to only eight players.

State Bank of LI 17

New Hyde Park 14

State Bank of LI showed up with their bats scoring 17 runs. Jessica Connaughton, Christine DeLuca and Sami O'Keefe combined for 12 hits. Maureen Flynn, Jennife Sarro and Diane McCormack also had two hits a piece. Melissa DiMarco and Marlene Junker were the defensive stars.

Fleet Bank 10 - Glen Oaks 2

The girls from Fleet Bank played great defense, hitting, pitching and aggressive base running, in improving their record to 6-1. Kerri Ann Rudd pitched four shutout innings and a single, three run homer, a solo homer and five RBIs. She also made a beautiful play at short. Stephanie Ligouri added 4 for 4 and two runs scored. Stepanie again threw out a runner at second base from her left center position with Kaitlyn Kerrane making a perfect tag. Kaitlyn also made a great tag of a sliding runner trying to steal third on a super throw from catcher Karen Ernst. Kaitlyn also made three smooth plays at second base. Danielle Young had a great game with a great play at short and an unbelievable stretch at first to just nail a runner. Danielle added a single and two runs scored. Karen Ernst hit a solo home run and added two hard hit singles. Christina Lipinski ran the bases perfectly and was 3 for 3 with a walk. Katie Rafferty played outstanding, hitting the ball hard at every at bat. Casandra had a hard hit single and played great in the field. Stefanie Weitzel pitched three great innings for the save, added a single, and caught an important line drive at short at her shoetops. Corinne Tisei added a single and dove around a waiting catcher's tag scoring a run. Corrine also caught a high fly to centerfield.

Hillside Beverage Giants 10

George's Deli Expos 9

The Hillside Beverage Giants played the George's Deli Expos in a game that came down to both teams scoring on their last at bats. The Giants were ahead by seven runs going into the top of the sixth inning when the Expos came back to tie it with good hitting. In the bottom of the sixth inning Matthew Williams went 2 for 4, singled, and Matthew Russo went 3 for 4 and made good fielding plays, singled, making it first and third. Brandon Lowey then got his third hit of the game, a grounder toward second base where the fielder threw it home trying to cut down the winning run, but the throw went high giving the Giants the win. Mark Ryan Gallardo, Clement Yu and Jordan Buff each had three hits. Anthony Fiorenti kept the Giants in the game with good fielding and two hits. Michael Fishkin, James Bicierro and Sean Marollo hit the ball hard and contributed to the team win. Exciting game for both teams.

May 12

George's Deli vs. Cellini Lodge

A great game between the George's Deli Expos and the hard hitting Cellini Lodge Braves. The Expos came up just short in this thriller of a game. Again the Expos were superb in the field with spectacular defensive plays by Neil Bisciello, Alex Bruschi, David Rodgers, Curt Ryersen, Bobby Montoni and Michael Marsigliano who was outstanding at first base. At the plate, the Expos were hot with clutch hitting by Peter Pecora, Anthony Zammit, who went 3 for 4, and Michael Pucci, 2 for 3 with two doubles. Thomas Cunningham knocked in a run with a sharp single up the middle. Paul Conte went 2 for 3 and Adrian Silva went 3 for 3. Well done, Expos!

May 12

F & F Roofing Dodgers 10

NHP Stationery Cubs 9

In a 10-9 nailbiter, the F&F Roofing Dodgers scored two runs late in the fifth inning to win. Led again by the batting of Richard Caruso and Robbie Ferlazzo, the Dodgers secured their fifth straight victory. John Ganz went 4-4 with four runs batted in along with Robert Butler and John Weitzel each going 3-4. Michael Durante, Gabriel Gonzales, Dominic Regalbuto, Jayson Gomez and Sammy Wilbur continued their defensive domination.

May 16

George's Deli vs. NHP Stationery

What a game between the George's Deli Expos and the NHP Stationery Cubs. The Expos came out victorious in this hard fought battle. Leading the way for the Expos defensively were Curt Ryersen who made two huge plays - one on third base and the other in right field. Anthony Zammit came up big again making two big plays at shortstop. Adrian Silva did a great job at second base making a huge play to end an inning. Peter Pecora was awesome almost making a diving catch of a long fly ball that held the batter to only a single. Bobby Montoni was also strong in the outfield. At the plate, the Expos were at the top of their game. Peter Pecora went 4 for 5. Neil Bisciello had a huge triple knocking in two runs. Michael Pucci went 4 for 4 with a triple. Thomas Cunningham had a big day at the plate, going 2 for 4 with two ribbies. I would also like to give special thanks to Paul Cunningham who filled in as a catcher for both teams, thanks Paul.

CDM Tire 7 - Virgilio Chiropractic 6

The Indians lost a squeaker to the tough Rockies team. Strong pitching from Mike Colavito helped keep the Rockies from breaking the game open. Excellent defensive play by Chris Ganz, Andrew Richardson and Ed Daly. Warren Kelly had two singles in the losing effort and Eric Gerwatowski got on base twice. Keep up the hard work, boys.

May 15

Nuzzi Fuel 4

The Indians came back in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie a tight, well played game. Jamie Liebowitz hit a two run homer to lead the Indian offense. Good infield defense led by Kyle Sheridan and Warren Kelly. Strong efforts from Anthony Bonilla, who stole home to tie the game and good outfield play by Mark Ackert and Josh Duggan.

May 11

Lazio Pizza 13 - Dr. Barbaro 7

The Lazio Pizza Tigers started slow, but exploded for 13 runs in the last three innings to pull out a 13-7 win over the Dr. Barbaro Pirates. Lazio Pizza got three hits apiece from DJ Gerowski, Stephen Kostel, Chris Dicerbo, Timmy Hanna and the star of the game, Paul Cunningham! Chris Lodise combined with Gerowski and Dicerbo for a solid pitching performance.

May 15

Lazio PIzza 10 - Cellini Lodge 7

The Lazio Pizza Tigers scored six runs in the first inning on their way to a 10-7 win against the Cellini Lodge Orioles. Sam Miller was the hitting star for Lazio Pizza with three timely hits. Chris Lodise also had three hits and pitched two strong innings. DJ Gerowski, Mike Maham, Eric Wendt, Paul Cunningham and Timmy Hanna each had two hits. Chris Dicerbo pitched two perfect innings to save the win for Gerowski, who pitched the first two innings. Romulo Gajardo had a key hit in the middle of the first inning rally and played terrific defense for the Lazio Pizza Tigers.
