Arthur James Kennedy, 82, of Williston Park, died on March 17, 1999. A gradute of Mineola High School, he was a WWII veteran serving as a lieutenant and navigator with the 8th Air Force. He was based in England and flew combat missions over Germany. After his plane was shot down he became a prisoner of war until he escaped. Mr. Kennedy was a retired meteorologist with United Airlines. Husband of the late Ruby (nee DeMiller). Father of Arthur W.. Brother of William E., Thomas J., John A., Dororthy C. Nowicke, Rita T. Gallagher and the late Sr. Marie P. Kennedy, RSM. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Roderick Norman Russo, of Williston Park, died on March 20, 1999. A retired traffic engineer with the NC Dept. of Public Works, he was a consultant to Nelson & Pope Design Firm. Trustee of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. Husband of Alice.
