Angeles G. Alonso (nee Gonzales), formerly of Williston Park, died on Jan. 28, 1999. Former proprietor of the Monterey Diner in Williston Park. Wife of the late Fernando. Mother of Fernando Jr. and Robert. Grandmother of seven. Great-grandmother of three. Sister of Carmen Palumbo and Maria Louisa Alvarez. Arrangements were made by the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home, Wantagh. Religious service. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. Dorothy H. Coyne, formerly of Glen Head and East Williston, died on Jan. 29, 1999. Wife of the late Thomas D. Mother of Robert, John and the late Harry. Mother-in-law of Nancy, Lynn and Patricia. Grandmother of 10. Great-grandmother of one. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park. Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi RC Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. James R. Ford, 78, of New Hyde Park, died on Feb. 1, 1999. Born in Roanoke, VA, he attended the Ringling Art School and the Art Students' League. He was a US Army veteran of WWII serving in Czechoslovakia, France and Germany. He studied under Moses Soyer and Edwin Dickenson and was the protege of Ed Whitney.

Mr. Ford was an art director for several Madison Avenue advertising agencies. He later taught classes at the Huntington Town Art League and the National Art League. His work has appeared in many shows throughout the country and he received several awards including the American Watercolor Society Pay Remmy Award, the George Graves Award from the Nassau Fine Arts Museum and the Knickerbocker Artists Award for Watercolor. He won Best in Show at the National Art League juried exhibition twice and the Independent Art Society Award simultaneously, the only artist to do so.

Mr. Ford was a member of the Aquerelle Club, the National Art League and was a founding member of the 30 Artists Group. His work is in many private collections.

He was the husband of the late Louise. Father of James Ford of Albany, Gary Ford of New Hyde Park, Anita Morse of Rochester, Marie Ragazzi of Garden City and Louise Callagy of Wading River. Father-in-law of John Ragazzi. Grandfather of nine. Funeral Mass at Notre Dame RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
