North Hempstead Town Clerk Linda Green was one of just a few town clerks on Long Island who opened up her office on Valentine's Day so that couples could be married. Green and her deputy Rhoda Becker contacted Town & Country Florist on Plandome Road, Manhasset and they donated roses for all the brides that added an extra festive touch to the happy event.

With the happy Albertson couple is mom and dad Nadia and Ismail Zaza; bride and groom who are both third year medical students, Dina and Wladislaw Fedoriw with North Hempstead Town Clerk Linda Green.

Green notified both the Town of Oyster Bay and Hempstead, who would not be open, and they in turn sent couples to her. The eventual outcome was they had to turn couples away because so many wanted to marry on such a memorable day.

When asked why they chose Valentine's Day to be married most of the couples said, "Who could ever forget an anniversary when you're married on Valentine's Day!"

In the two hour period from noon to 2 p.m. Green married more than ten couples, who were all very different, but had one very important thing in common, they were all very happy!
