The most exciting game played on Superbowl Sunday was played by the NHP Lady Tigers in Rockland County. The Lady Tigers started their five game tournament against division rivals Oceanside Revolution. Oceanside scored first on a questionable goal off a throw-in deflection that was ruled as crossing the goal line. This goal proved to be the only goal surrendered by the Tigers in the entire tournament. However, with five minutes remaining, Dominie Kokkoris skillfully chipped a goal over the head of the Oceanside goalie. With one minute remaining Oceanside tried a final offensive assault with four shots on goal including a sizzling blast at Tiger keeper Lyndsey DeSarbo which was deflected for the save and to end the game in a tie. In game two, the Lady Tigers dominated the upstate team from Fishkill winning 4-0. Nicole Cavallaro delivered two goals while Marion Delapena and Dana Hammer added one each in the game. Game three turned out to be a defensive showdown against the hometeam Rockland Storm. Credit this win to the defense as the Lady Tigers prevailed thanks to powerful defensive stops by Catie Loskofsky and brilliant take-aways by Francine Leung. Nicole C. scored midway in what proved to be the winning goal. Game four was against a strong team from Larchmont. Ali Timpano played a very crucial role in the game by aggressively covering the court from end to end and maintaining ball possession in favor of the Tigers. Nicole C. knocked in her fourth goal of the day and Jamie "The Terminator" Bourazeris blasted in another for the Tigers 2-0 victory. With the Tigers tied with Oceanside in the standings, the team needed to win their final game against Yorktown by at least a three goal margin to force a shoot-out for first place. Midway through their game there was still no score until Nicole C. began the charge in a motivating shot into the right corner of the net. The pumped-up center forward then quickly scored two more for her hat trick. Dana H. put the icing on the cake by scoring her second goal of the day and sealing a 4-0 win for the team. Now tied with Oceanside in the standings, first place came down to a sudden death shoot-out between the teams.
The Lady Tigers gave the first kick honors to Nicole C. who drilled her shot off the top post and into the net for the score. Oceanside matched the score on an equally impressive shot by their forward. Domanie K. shot second for NHP, but found the goalie waiting despite the blast she delivered. Oceanside went next but missed wide right on their attempt. Left-footed Ali T. rose to the occasion and surprised the keeper with her sharp boot to the left corner of the net for the score. With the tension at maximum level, Tiger goalie Lyndsey D. remained calm and focused as the Oceanside forward boomed a hard shot toward the upper right side of the net only to forcefully meet the black and green gloved hands of Lyndsey who knocked it down to help capture first place for the NHP Lady Tigers.

After competing at the Chelsea Pier's indoor tournament two weeks earlier, the Stray Cats had to make the adjustment from astro turf to the hardwood floor, and gave a credible performance on the way to a third place finish at the Patriots Soccer Club Indoor Tournament.
Stray Cats 1 - East Islip Heat 0
The Cats dominated this game from the opening whistle. The defensive trio of Ashley Campson, Mary Hess and Nicole Southern shut down the Heat's attack. X'Ania Saldana notched her first of two shut outs with a strong game in goal. Megan Steven's alert play accounted for the game winner as she stole a pass from midfield and connected for the goal.
Stray Cats 0 - Brentwood Predators 1
The team put up a strong showing against the eventual tournament champs. Michele Galante, Kristina DiCostanzo and Jessica Busardo shared the forward slot and kept pressure on Brentwood. Lauren DeSimone played a strong two way game assisting on the attack and defense. Brentwood scored late in the game on a throw in.
Stray Cats 1 - Bayside Rockets 0
This was probably our best game as the team put on a full court blitz from start to finish. X'Ania took full charge of the defense and came up with several key saves. Lauren, with her back to the goal, timed a throw in from Ashley, and directed the ball perfectly with the top of her head for the game winner.
Stray Cats 0 - POB Strikers 1
This was a very competitive game against a familiar opponent. Nicole and Mary had solid games on defense. Kristina and Michele once again managed to keep offensive pressure on Bayside. The Rockets scored early on but the Stray Cats battled to the end. The game ended on what looked like an apparent handball in the 18-meter box of Bayside, but as the whistle blew, there was no call.
Stray Cats 1 - Northport Blue Shadows 1
This was an exciting final game with lots of action. With her back to the goal, Megan executed a perfect scissors kick that dazzled the crowd and put the Stray Cats on top less than a minute into the game. Jessica had a strong game with booming shots keeping the Shadow goalie on her toes. Northport managed to tie the score but the Stray Cats, needing at least a tie for third place, would not allow the Blue Shadow a goal.
