In March, the Village of Williston Park will hold elections. Last March after the village elections for mayor and trustee, Ray Cross was appointed by our newly elected Mayor Joe Connolly to fill the vacancy. The appointment was only until the next regular election would be held and then Ray had to decide if he wanted to seek election. To the pleasure of the entire Village Board and the Integrity Party, Ray has decided to seek re-election. Since his appointment, Ray has made many contributions to the village and its committees. I was fortunate to act as co-liaison with him on the Pool Committee. The knowledge that he brought to the committee because of his expertise in recreation has contributed to the successful season at the pool. Ray is always willing to lend a hand to other trustees and was only appointed a week or so when he helped with "Little Make a Difference Day" in April of 1998. His perseverance was greatly appreciated by the Historical Committee as they now have a newly built closet to store their artifacts.
Ray has been an asset to the Village Board and is committed to making Williston Park a better place to live. If you would like to help on his campaign, you may call my home at 747-8219.
