Martin Park Community Center, 1602 Marcus Avenue, corner of Marcus Avenue and New Hyde Park Road, New Hyde Park

The public session is to allow commentary from the public regarding the content of the Environmental Impact Statement. The scoping session is also an opportunity for the public to be involved in determining the range of issues and considerations to be evaluated in the EIS. All persons wishing to be heard will have the opportunity to speak.

The 93 acre property consisting of 50 acres within the Town of North Hempstead and 43 acres within the Village of Lake Success is owned by Lockheed Martin Corporation. The facility was originally built by the United States Government and was occupied for a number of years by the Sperry Gyroscope Company.

Lockheed has applied for approval to redevelop the site with a mix of senior housing, a hotel/conference center, an office park, geriatric center, plus commercial development. The site contains approximately 1.5 million square feet of building area and parking for more than 3600 cars. No building permits or zoning approvals may be granted by the town until an EIS is completed by the applicant.
