Congratulations to the entire Lady Lynx family on winning the prestigious Sportsmanship Award for their division. This award is the icing on a fantastic first season for our girls and is well deserved. The Lady Lynx, while playing excellent soccer, displayed conduct on the field which was characteristic of true winners. Congratulations also to the Lady Lynx parents, as this award recognizes the conduct of the girls on the field as well as the decorum on the sidelines.
As a coach I can only tell the girls the level of conduct I expect on the field but it is evident that the concept of good sportsmanship and integrity were instilled in the girls long before they joined the Lady Lynx family. This award is something to be truly proud of, congratulations and thank you.....Coach Joe.
Although it was only their first year playing together on the same team, the fourth grade girls on the Lady Tigers have formed bonds of friendship that seem unbreakable. The Lady Tigers finished the season with 18 wins, four ties and only five defeats, scoring 72 goals and only surrendering 27 and they continue to advance into the semifinals of the New York State Cup which resumes in the spring. Recently, the Lady Tigers celebrated the season with a fun-filled day that began at the pizzeria, traveled to Carvel and was capped at the roller-skating rink where the entire team and coaches skated away the day. When off the floor the girls demonstrated their teamwork once again in the arcade and combined their over 900 winning tickets to acquire Tiger stuffed animals which they graciously presented to their coaches as a special thank you. Coaches Vinnie Timpano and Bernadette Bourazeris want to send a special heart-felt thank you to all the parents of the team and to those in the community who attended games and supported the team with fund raisers. Because of the parents and friends, they want everyone to know that this year was very special to them and that they enjoy being a part of the wildcats organization. In turn, the parents of the team recognize Vinnie and Bernadette for their incredible sacrifice of time and money and for being incredibly kind to the girls and patient with the parents. To have a winning team is nice, but to have caring coaches is fantastic.
