Snag on Jericho Turnpike Deters Completion
It was reported at the last New Hyde Park Village Board meeting, by Trustee William Fischl, that the engineers have run into additional problems with the repairs and the work on Jericho Turnpike and it may not be completed this year. They discussed doing more night work; however, since they cannot pour asphalt in cooler weather, the asphalt plants usually close down after Thanksgiving. In the interim there will be another meeting in Floral Park to further discuss the situation.

Daniel O'Sullivan Holding His Own
"His progress is slow, but steady, and we won't know if he's out of the woods until Sunday, so keep praying, " was the comment from Daniel O'Sullivan's aunt Lorraine Alberton, of New Hyde Park when we talked to her just before press time. O'Sullivan, who is 25 years old native and a native of New Hyde Park, was run down by a drunk driver when stopping to help a stranded motorist on the Grand Central Parkway last weekend and has been in intensive care at New York Hospital with a severe head injury ever since.
