Village to Appeal Judge's Decision
At last week's meeting of the New Hyde Park Village board at the opening of the meeting Mayor Warren Tackenberg announced the sudden passing of Kevin Gormley, a resident who, in the last year, attended board meetings regularly. He called for a moment of silence in memory of him.

Sterling Bowl Sponsors Annual AHRC Tournament
Fred and Ricky Ridolf, owners of Sterling Bowl, New Hyde Park, once again donated their lanes to host the 32nd Annual Andy Varipapa A Day In June Bowling Tournament. More than 600 adults with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities bowled in the popular event.

New Hyde Park Wildcats Roundup
Each year, for the past three years, the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) has awarded two $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors, or college students, who have served as volunteers with the LIJSL's Special Children's Program for at least two seasons. Winners are selected on the following criteria: Participation with a local Special Soccer Program, letters of recommendation, scholastic achievements, extracurricular school activities and/or community service and an essay.
