Albertson/Herricks Astros, the 14-and 15-year old-senior division had a perfect 14-0 season to clinch first place for the second year in row. The team played extremely competitive teams including New Hyde Park, Carle Place, Mineola, Roslyn, Garden City and Stewart Manor.

David Shelley, the number one pitcher had a near perfect game and had to settle for a one-hitter in one of the exciting games. P. J. Malquist, John Tunney and Glen Brewer were essential to the winning pitching staff, allowing only three earned runs per game.

Andrew Cutrone led the team with a .639 batting average and hit a team high three homeruns. David Pintauro, Nick Yannaco and Joe Pellegrini all had close to a .600 batting average as well as playing errorless ball.

Chuck Kincade, Matt Estreich, Brian Holzer, Mike DiBari, Brian Kinch, Keith Mitchell, Casey Lynn and Danny Sledz contributed to the winning cause with excellent fielding and timely hitting.

This was our first game for the Astros in the Glen Cove Tournament. A spectacular job of pitching by Kyle Lavery, a no hitter and more than 10 strike outs. Great hitting by Dave Pintauro who hit a triple driving in three runs. Jared Barry who went two for three and Chuck Kincade who went two for two. As the Astros went on to win there first game 12-0. Another good game for the Astros against St. Bonafice. Astros won 9-2. Great pitching for the first three innings by PJ Malquist only letting up one run in three innings. Great relief work by Richard Burns who also let up only one run with two hits in the next four innings. A great job hitting by Mike DiBari who went two for three with a 285 foot plus home run. Andrew Cutrone not only did a great job at short stop, but went three for three, same with Matt Wright doing great at second base and he went two for two. Chuck Kincade with another errorless gold glove performance and he went two for three. All these efforts helped the Astros stay undefeated. This was a terrific game for the Astros. They won 14-0 due to the pitching of Nick Yannaco three innings of one hit baseball, but not only that he also hit a grand slam home run to nail down his victory. Terrific relieving work by Andrew Cutrone pitching the last two shot out innings. Great hitting by Jared Barry with a 290 foot grand slam homerun, high over the left field fence. Mike DiBari who went two for two bringing his average to a team high 800. These achievements helped the Astros continue their winning streak.
