At the outset of the last Herricks School Board meeting Superintendent Dr. Sidney Freund explained that back in October the board hired Angelo Garcia as an environmental consultant. He has extensive training and background in this field and has done an extensive job of evaluating the air quality at the high school. The board of education recently received a report and additionally, the Health and Safety Committee at the high school and the PTA received a slightly different format of that same report. At its last meeting the board of the Water Authority of Western Nassau County approved a 17.65 percent decrease in water rates after approving the 1998/1999 Operating Plan and Capital Plan. FULL STORY
