I write with deep gratitude to commend the efforts of my campaign committee, family and friends who supported me throughout my candidacy for trustee of the New Hyde Park/Garden City Park Board of Education.

I am proud to be associated with you all and I thank you for the fine and decent campaign we waged. I am beholden to the 798 community members who understood my wish, only to be the advocate for our children's education on the board. And a special thanks to my husband, Tim Sheridan, for his love and encouragement and in helping me stay focused during this election campaign.

Be assured that I will remain actively involved and informed on all board matters to ensure that the children of the district will receive the best education our tax dollars can provide and that the needs of all children are met.

To the parents of school-age children and other concerned taxpayers, please remember that it is your right and privilege to vote on the school budget and for the trustee of choice. In a community of more than 7,000 families, it is hard to believe that only 1700 voters chose to have a say and voted.

Best wishes to James Kane and Curtis Axelsen on their election.

Tricia Sheridan
