Billy Russo was clearly the outstanding goalie for the junior yellow team but they seemed to struggle on offense. Joe Ferrara was one of the goal scorers but the other one was just about impossible to identify as it looked like the entire team pushed the ball over the goal line. The red team rallied with goals by Samantha Epstein and Ehrin McHenry. Elizabeth Almandy was terrific in her first game with our program as her passing and defense was magnificent.

Robert DeTrano got the senior red team off to a roaring start with two goals but the y ellow team came right back with two of their own by Debbie Chin and Steve Serio. Steve Fleisher tuned up for next week's tournament with some great support at midfield as did Derek Epstein and Karen Babyak.

Featured Assistant: We've had the good fortune of having a father and son combination working with our program for the past few seasons. They have given a great deal of themselves by both helping with our equipment and eagerly participating with our players. They are one of the first ones there each week ready to help set up the nets. They work one-on-one with some of the weaker players to help improve their skills. And they can't wait for our scrimmages. A tip of the hat to Brian and Bob Eilbott.

The Pantherettes found themselves having to play short due to injuries and illnesses. They would not fall to this fast and aggressive Merrick team, they in turn tired out Merrick's players.

Opening our scoring was Vikki with a beautiful volley off a perfect cross from Diana. Winning the ball at the top of the 18 meter box, Terri Ann launched a rocket. Danielle followed with a breakaway from midfield with total command, putting the ball into the net for our third goal. Jess and Diana applied unbelievable pressure throughout the game always threatening to score. Our midfielders Maureen, Kristen and Laura were relentless in their attacks up and down the field, never seeming to show signs of fatigue. Prachee controlled the field from her defensive position, setting up many plays while shutting down any of Merrick's drives. Jeanne and Vikkie both shared goaltending duties, doing an exceptional job when called upon.

The team would like to welcome Kristen, who has already made her presence known on the field. We would also like to wish Lauren a speedy recovery. We miss you!

The Kickcats played their best game of this young season. Lisa got us on the scoreboard early converting a nice feed from Marielle. Jessica playing a superb midfield scored a goal of her own on an assist from Jayne. Lisa closed out the scoring with her second goal of the day.

However, the real story of this game was our superb midfield play. Led by Stephanie, Sonia, Ilana and Bridget we were a swarming unit. All of Farmingdale's efforts were turned into offensive rushes and we controlled the game. Devon came up big stopping a penalty kick.

Keep kicking - Kickcats.

It's a shame, intensity doesn't carry over. The Kickcats world-bearers on Saturday waltzed through Sunday's game and got knocked out of the Waldbaum's Cup.

The defense, led by Kerri, Michelle, Anna and Cristina, were constantly back pedaling to keep up with West Babylon's offensive pressures. Kaitlyn and Kristina played brilliant on the wings, however we couldn't score against a tough West Babylon defense.

Katie and Devon shared the goaltending duties and played well. We'll see West Babylon again and we owe them one.

Keep kicking - Kickcats.

The problems created by field change and the absent referee along with the poor weather conditions, took its toll on our girls' poor start, allowing the opponent to get on the board first.

But such deficit sounded the alarm clock and by the 15th minute Meghan got the equalizer. Carolyn and Puja's speed kept on slicing through the Bethpage defense and was no surprise that Alex got the go-ahead goal, by the 39th minute.

A brief reaction from Bethpage in the beginning of the second half, found an unsurpassable barrier on Allison's hands and feet, giving the Pumas the necessary confidence to look for more. And, by mid-second half, Evelin's low shot found the back of the net, minutes before the hard-working Ali got her reward, closing up the score.

Excellent defensive play by Jessica and Christy, giving no chances to the Bethpage offense.

As always when you play in the rain, girls, the effort is 100 percent. Let's keep it rolling!

The SpeedyCats' aggressive play along with their speed and teamwork led the team to victory in their advance to the State Cup quarterfinals. The aggressiveness of Diane McCormick gave the SpeedyCats their first goal of the game. Tough defensive play, as always, by Denise Ingram, Jessica Connaughton and Katie Nilsen, kept the Flaming Arrows from scoring the midfield intense pressure from Marie LaMaida, Colleen Holahan and Angela Cass was superb throughout the game. The great passing and excellent team play by MaryLu Donovan, Nicole Thomas, Ali Strassberg, Christine Coven and Diane McCormick helped Christine Coven to score the winning goal. Nicole and Christine were great in goal.

Keep it going girls. You are terrific!

The Starcats played well on both ends of the field in this 2-0 victory over the Manhasset Express. Meaghan Houst, Samantha Rosen and Kaitlyn Kennedy sparked the offense. Meaghan scored from 15 yards out late in the first half. Samantha Rosen, expertly handling a bouncing pass from about 10 yards out, Kaitlyn Kennedy made some outstanding plays, controlled the ball on her side and almost scored on a great effort.

Christine Cusumano, Emily Glen, Kerianne Stein and Deanna Perniciaro set the tempo of the game with great passes and ball control at midfield. Erin Gilmartin baffled the opposing team by stealing several throw-ins and turning them into offensive drives.

Samantha Kunion, Samantha Zucherman and Allison Monti showed a lot of spirit and good hustle and contributed to the victory.

Last, but not least, Monica Soluri played another outstanding game in goal and made several great stops saving a number of goals. Monica worked hard in achieving the shutout!

Kim Carini and Stefani Kovacic used their speed and quickness to swarm the defense of the host team Levittown Lightning Bolts. Carini scored four goals while Kovacic added two goals and an assist. From the midfield position, Nicole Denara (three assists) and Alison Kiernan were strong in the open field. Teresa Ferraro scored the other goal with a rocket into the upper left corner of the net. Forwards Allie Bresso and Andrea Flori supplied the rest of the offensive pressure. On "D" Dena Wlodarczyk, Nicole Dobranski and Caitlin Kennedy smothered the Lightning Bolts attack. Goaltender Samantha Laszlo chalked up another shutout with some outstanding sprawling saves. The Lady Cougars and their families would like to wish a Happy "22" Wedding Anniversary to Sue and Joe Wlodarczyk.

Lady Cougars Advance to Semi-Finals in Waldbaum's Cup with Win in Shootout

With the rain coming down steadily all game the Lady Cougars played their hearts out to gain a well deserved come-from-behind victory. Playing the aggressive Floral Park Kachinas on their home turf didn't help. Trailing 2-0 Stefanie Kovacic scored to cut the lead in half but a fluke goal by Floral Park made it 3-1 at the half. The Cougars regrouped and got two scores from forwards Kim Carini and Allie Bresso to tie the game at 3-3. Alison Kiernan, Caitlin Kennedy and Andrea Flori worked hard to control the middle fo the field all game. Dena Wlodarcyzk on defense and goalie Sam Laszlo were awesomwe especially with the muddy field conditions, forcing the game to go to a shootout. Teresa Ferraro and Nicole Dobranski scored in the shootout to advance the Cougars to the semi-finals. The coaches, Lovorko Kovacic, Dan Carini and Dan Flori, appreciate the effort the team gave under such adverse conditions. The Lady Cougars showed a lot of character not quitting. Everyone would like to wish a speedy recovery to Nicole Denara who had an accident the night before that required six stitches on the chin, focing her out of action. Much success in the next round, girls!

The Cats displayed nice stamina to come from behind after Syosset scored two unanswered goals. They pooled their talents for the big 4-2 win, but more importantly shutting down Syosset's offensive the entire second half.

From Joe Fontana's corner, MIchael Depowski found the back of the net. Todd Mandl set up the next two goals, the first to Andrew Ilardi and then to Stephen Rampulla who also had a overall great game. Jason Fishman taken down in the box was rewarded with the fourth goal when he converted on the penalty shot. Excellent play by Chris Corey, Josh Rivera and Matt Suckle. Neema Bsri was outstanding in goal!

Finally, the Snow Leopards put an entire 8-minute game together in fine style by defeating the Elwood Goaldiggers 2-1. This game was marked with pin-point passing and solid defense. Ai Fujii was the offensive spark with superb ball handling and timely passing. Sabrina Caronna answered the challenge with two first halve goals. Jessica Lewandoski displayed another versatile game both defensively and as a midfield catalyst. Once again the defensive wall of Monika Junker, Lisa Gulino, Katie DiPietro and Elizabeth Pujdak was outstanding. With a sparkling team effort at all ends of the field, it was brilliant performance of Laurie Anne Oates in net which iced this well deserved victory. The Cats put together the perfect game as they dominated from the opening whistle to the end. With half the team changing from their Junior Prom dresses into their uniforms they were still ready to take on the team from Sachem. Their passing was superb and they had many well placed shots. Lisa Pagano and Kristen Trebing combined for the easy shutoff. Kathleen Mikowski got the Cats on board with an unassisted goal. Erika Zimpritsch set up Jamie Fazio with a perfect pass for the second goal. Kathlee fed Kristen who deposited it in the net for number three. Kathleen added a second unassisted goal and Tara Loonie closed out the scoring with a hard earned goal. The defense of Kelli Gracia, Cheryl Lee, Alison Kramer and Christine Turley was perfect allowing the Sachem team only one shot on goal, Laura Vosswinkel put in a determined effort at the midfield. Great game ladies. With an exciting shootout victory today against division rival Farmingdale Lightning, the StrayCats advance to the Waldbaum's semi-finals for the third straight year. The StrayCats had the wind to their backs the first half and put relentless pressure on the Lightning. The forward line of Vicki Nikic, Jessica Busardo, Xania Saldana and Michele Galante kept the play on the Lightning half of the field throughout the first half. Despite the advantage the wind gave us, the Cat's were unable to put up a goal. In the second half it was up to the defense to take over. Nicole Southern and Jessica Lippolis both play aggressively, moving up the field from fullback and their back and forth style of play kept the Lightning off the board. Tied in regulation the teams went on to OT. Alyson Rose and Vjosa Isein closed off the middle of the field and the StrayCats dominated the 10 minutes of play but still both teams were unable to score. Eileen Hunt played goal the first half and Vicki took over in the second, combining for the shutout. In the shootout, it was up to Vicki to stop the Lightning. Lighting had the first shot and Vicki went wide to the right to make the save. Vicki's save seemed to take the wind out of the Lightning. Alison Fleigel stepped to the line and drilled the goal. Next came Vjosa, Jessie B., and Ashley Campson all finding the back of the net for an exciting and well earned 4 to 2 victory for the StrayCats. After an exciting shootout victory Saturday, the team traveled to CSH for league play and notched their third victory of the season with a 2 to 0 win over the Jaguars. Exhibiting nice passing and good communication on the field, the girls controlled the flow of the game. Lauren Castilla and Lindsay Rella played midfield moving the ball to the side of the field and up to our offense. Alison Fliegel had the winning goal. When Alison has the ball at her feet she knows what to do, as she moved past two defenders creating an open shot past the goalie. Nicole Southern picked up where she left off Saturday and the steady play of Beth DeMarco shut down the Jaguars. Mary Hess saw action on the left wing and her accurate passes to the center of the field set up some shots on goal. Kristina DiCostanzo scored her first StrayCat goal by cutting to the middle of the net from her right wing slot. Her goal creased the left corner of the net and gave the team some breathing room. The StrayCats goalies, Eileen Hunt and Vicki Nikic, combined as they had Saturday for the shutout. Their strong punts down field definitely kept the momentum flowing the Cat's way. A gritty, gutsy effort by the Firecats, who played much of the game with only 10 players. Molly Herrick was sensational in goal, stopping balls which already seemed to be behind her. Jen Mason was brilliant at sweeper, with superb defensive support being provided by Jen Baumann, Mary McFarland and Maura Tuohey. Jessica Monahan and Janette Antic played bravely in returning from serious leg injuries. In a game which was evenly and beautifully played, HBC managed to finish one more rush, and that was the difference, as the Firecats were eliminated from the Cup competition. The Lasers scored midway through the first half on a nice cross delected in front, but determined defense by Tara Georgesa and Christine Maulion kept the game within reach at half-time. Eleni Roulis played practically every position on the field and excelled at all of them. In the second half, the Firecats' revamped forward line of Michelle Prizeman, Melissa Suarez and Lauren Ratafia put tremendous pressure on the defense. Keeper Molly Herrick and sweeper Jen Mason again played wonderfully in keeping HBC off the board. With five minutes remainiing, the Firecats launched a four wide rush, with midfielder Staci Scianabo joining the forward line in a desperation flight down the field. All four players made beautiful pinpoint passes as the ball wound up on Michelle's foot and her rocket tied the game and stunned the Lasers. Unfortunately, with about a minute to play in the second overtime, an HBC forward shook free in the gathering dusk and placed the ball in the top corner for the victory. Although eliminated from the tournament, the Firecats' valiant effort proved that they can still play with the top clubs in Division 1.

In another Division 1 battle, Lady Jaguars fought courageously. The first half, Stefanie Weitzel, playing stopper for our injured Lauren B., was winning many balls and controlling the middle of the field. Alyson Friedman and Kristin Fricone had strong games at midfield. The first half ended scoreless.

The second half began just like the first with end to end action. East Islip struck with a shot from in close for a 1-0 lead. Laura Papalexis was once again a shining star in goal. With little time remaining, Maria Concilio's throw in found Pamela Fiorillo was blasted home the tying goal. Great comeback Lady Jaguars.

The Aristocats played host to the tough Valley Stream Taz, and despite not being at their best, hung in this league game until the final few minutes. Ashley Felcon drove home a long free kick for the team's lone goal of the half. Diana Cotilletta provided some aggressive play at center midfield and kept the attack going. Starting the second half down 2-1 the Aristocats attempted to take control. Great individual efforts by forwards Melissa Fulgenzi and Suzie Jozkowski brought the team even at thre all. From then on the Tax retook the middle of the field and knocked in a few quick goals. Alyson Bader stood out with some aggressive play at midfield. Danielle Losonci was solid in goal. It just wasn't our day, girls, let's put it behind us.

The SpeedyCats displayed a total team effort against the Smithtown Barage, but had to settle for a 2-2 tie with the Barage scoring the tie the last minute of the game.

As always strong defensive plays by Jessica Connaughton, Denise Ingram and Katie Nelson who blast the ball downfield to Diane McCormick and a frenzy of SpeedyCat feet that allowed MaryLou Donovan that extra peek to put the ball into the net for the first SpeedyCat goal.

An untimely penalty call inside the Barage box gave Smithtown a penalty kick to knot the score 1-1.

It was anyone's game at halftime but the SpeedyCats showed their determination with the aggressive pressure of Marie Mamaida, Coleen Hallahan and Mriale Minias.

With a beautiful assist from Jessica Galante to MaryLou Donovan, the SpeedyCats forged ahead with a 2-1 lead.

With an aggressive hard pressed second half by both teams, Smithtown was able to battle back with the late score that tied the game 2-2.

Great game SpeedyCats!

Some last minute heroics averted a heartbreaking loss as the Lady Leopards battled Hewlett to a 1-1 tie. In a scoreless first half, the Leopards shut down the potent Blue Spirit attack. Kim Krakauer led a outstanding defensive effort that featured tenacious play at marking back by Katie Sakowich and Andrea Hiebler. Cathy Caballero and Alison Papalexis provided strong two way play. In the second half, Hewlett scored on a 40 meter Hail Mary kick by their fullback. The Leopards would not back down and stepped their attack behind the aggressive play of Lauren Lidowsky and Jennifer Capasso. With less than two minutes remaining, Lauren Spota lofted a crossing pass into the box. Samantha Didrikson won the ball and placed it into the net for the tying goal. Michelle Colletti was sensational in goal.

Under windy conditions, the Thundercats applied tremendous offensive pressure in the first half led by Colleen, Analise, Sara and Cindy S., taking plenty of shots on the net. In the second half, Samantha and Jenna teamed up and played a superb defense on a pass from

Analise to Sara to Becky, Becky blasted one past the keeper. Cindy L., Danielle, Lindsay played a strong second half offense. Good job by keepers Tara and Ali.

Thundercats came out strong attacking the net at every opportunity. On a beautiful cross from left wing Analise to right wing Colleen. Colleen rocketed the ball into the upper corner of the net. RVC kept pressure on but Jenna, Samantha and Becky held them off with consistent outstanding defensive plays. Sara and Cindy L. kept the middle clear with good solid passes up to the wings. Cindy S. and Lindsay played a solid offensive line. Ali in goal kept RVC shutout. Good game Thundercats! Playing without substitutes and in unfamiliar positions, the Cheshire Cats suffered a tough 3-1 Waldbaum's Cup loss to Plainedge. The lone goal was scored by Michelle LaBarbera with an excellent feed from Lisa Virzera. Great hustle and ball control by Sarah Mahan provided offensive pressure. Laura Carey and Jami Cantwell gave excellent defensive performances. The Cheshire Cats were firing on all cylinders as they bounced back to defeat the Mastic Jazz in a rainy day match. Kara Beardsley scored twice, the first with an assist from Katelyn Warren. Michelle LaBarbera netted one with an assist from Stephanie Chan. Athena Chen scored an unassisted goal in a beautifully placed direct kick from 35 yards out. The Jazz put some pressure on the Cats by scoring two goals, however, the Cats responded as Jenna Bresso scored back to back goals to break the Jazz momentum. The Cheshire Cats then cruised for the 6-2 win.

The Lady Jaguars played a red hot Rockville Centre team losing 2-0. In the first half the Lady Jaguars made a few runs at the goal but were unable to capitalize. After a scoreless first half, RVC put it into high gear scoring off a beautiful cross. Lauren Stacon and Kristen Fricione battled relentlessly to try to hold our opponents. Yoush Papalexis made many fine saves.

We would like to wish a speedy recovery to Lauran Baumann who was surely missed.

The Magic Cats opened the lead with Dan Fini using his head to head in our first goal. Pasquale Imbriano faked out the goalie and dribbled the ball right in for our second goal. Amityville did not give up however and made it 2-1.

The boys tightened the defense with aggressive play by John Fini, Patrick Carton, Mike Nathan and Robby Nilson. Great midfield support by Mike Makowenskyj and Dan Aruch.

The Magic Cats moved into the semi-finals with this win. Justin Soluri used his speed and scored the first goal on a pass from Pasquale Imbriano.

Pasquale was not to be denied and turned on his jets and scored our next two goals.

Our defense held our opponents at bay. Great play by Stephen Stallone, P)eter Zappulla, Chris Sigmund. our midfield of Evan Chen and Scott Chen, Dan Aruch and Mike Makowenskyj fed our forwards the ball. Good offensive pressure by Chris Garcia. Great goaltending by Matt Bender whose leaping deflecting on a direct kick earned the shutout. On to the semi-finals!

StrykerCats improved their league record to 4-0 with an impressive win over a physical Syosset team. Goals were scored by Matt S. on an unassisted strong left foot on the far post. Chris V. on a beautiful assist by James S. and Justin Perciballi from the top right 18 meter line on a recognition back pass from Neil M.

On a cool, rainy Sunday afternoon the StrykerCats and their opponents, the Newfield Panthers played a game that deserved a sunny 70 degree day like Saturday.

The StrykerCats went down early 1-0. They showed their true resolve, However, as Matt S. from Enrique F. put in another of his left foot, far post risers, Neil M. placed a terrific header off the strong crossing pass of James S. and Matt S. connected again with a strong middle assist from Chris U.

Our quick defense led by Alejandro F., Joe F., Sean M. and Justin P. were tested throughout as Newfield pressured the net and tied 3-3. The StrykerCats came back again as Matt S. completed a hat trick off assists from Adam M. and Joe F.

Newfield managed to tie the game with approximately two minutes to go.

What followed was pure drama! Both teams played two five minute overtimes of gut-wrenching play. Waldbaum's Cup rules call for "sudden death" so every bounce of the ball was crucial. We ended O/T tied at 4-4!

Two terrific teams composed of skilled, hard playing youngsters lined up for soccer's ultimate challenge. Player after player from both teams struck their shots with both goalies coming close to saves a couple of times. With the StrykerCats up 8-7, Newfield approached the ball and went high right. Goalie Tommy C. went with the shot.

On to the semis, boys!

In this quarter-final Waldbaum's game, the Cougars played their best game of the season. Ken Z. produced the lightning goal in sudden death to defeat an excellent foe. The defense was led by Paul H., Mark R., Kyle R. and Kyle S. The entire midfield group of Jake A., Patrick D., Joe V., and Jessie W. controlled play. Conrad T., James O. and Brian C. placed strong pressure offensively. Great goaltending by

Andrew H. in earning the shutout. Missed Joe G. and Johnnie C. (sickness and injury). Next step is the semifinals. Way to go Cougars!

In an exciting game against a quality opponent, the Cougars couldn't convert on many scoring chances, especially in the second half. The boys played with heart and determination, but must learn how to complete the play.

The Stormcats blew away the East Meadow Thunder 4-1. The pesky Thunder made a game of it for the first half. Dan Duras opened the scoring with a pop after getting a rebound off a Joe Marrano shot.

The coaches couldn't rave any more about the defense, led by Joe Incalcaterra, Alex Nystatt, Robert Morici. Dan Gangale and Eric Andreuzzi were awesome sharing the goalie duties.

The second half was all Stormcats. Joe Marrano scored on a great crosas by Dan Duras. Later Dan Duras took the ball up and would not be denied. Our last goal came when Justin Brobst stole the ball scurried up the right side pushed the ball up to Robby Kassoff who rifled a shot passed the goalkeeper. Christian Uy played a magificent midfield.
