The Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter, Marino Avenue, Port Washington, in cooperation with the North Shore Animal League, will hold a free rabies vaccine clinic on May 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the pets of town residents. To participate in the clinic residents are asked to contact Susan Hassett, assistant director of the Shelter at 944-8220, to make an appointment.

The town will also hold a PAWS Adopt A Pet Day on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then, to herald the beginning of "Be Kind to Animals Week' the town will hold a Pet Adoptathon in coordination with the National Adoptathon on May 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Animal Shelter, Marino Avenue.
