Cello Bach Festival

Funny Stuff Circus
The Nassau Community College series, "Classics for Kids" (and Grownups, too). will return for its 19th season at the college. The programs are sponsored by the Cultural Program. Each performance, presented at the new college center, with cost $1.50 with a season ticket for all three shows priced at only $3. The season show opener will be "Funny Stuff Circus" at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. that will include amazing feats of skill, classical mime, audience participation, magic, music and lots of laughs. Mime Trent Arterberry and Big Apple Circus clown Mr. Fish will delight with zany characterizations and outrageous stunts. The other shows in the series are scheduled for March 8 and April 26. North Hempstead Town General Taxes Due
The first-half 1998 General Taxes are payable without a penalty through Feb. 10. Property owners should have received a tax bill unless their taxes are paid through a mortgage-escrow account. Taxpayers who have not received a bill should contact the Receiver of Taxes Office. Taxpayers should also notify the tax office, in writing, about billing-address changes, ownership changes, or mortgage satisfactions. All correspondence should include the property's section, block and lot information. The address of the Receiver of Taxes office is: 200 Plandome Road, Manhasset, 11030. Homemaker's Council of Nassau To Meet
The East Williston chapter of The Homemaker's Council of Nassau County, Inc. will hold its next meeting at noon in The Community Church of East Williston. Cornell Cooperative Extension will hold a free seminar on the hazards of lead-based paints at 8:30 p.m. at the Plainview office, 1425 Old Country Road. Tradespeople, including general contractors, painters, demolition and remodeling contractors and building maintenance workers are invited to participate to learn how lead poisoning occurs, who is at risk and how to protect against exposure, safe work practices and applicable regulations. American Indian games and legends will be featured at a special winter recess program through to Feb. 20 at the Nassau County Garvies Point Museum, Barry Drive, Glen Cove. The programs, run during winter recess, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Children and parents are invited to learn and experience authentic Indian games and listen to their legends. The program is geared for children ages five to 10 years of age, but all ages are welcome. The program is included in the admission fee of 50 cents for children 5 to 12 and $1 for ages 13 and over.
