It was very exciting for students who had received notification that they had graduated to the next level. Families and friends were proud as were the Water's and the entire teaching team at Hwang Karate Studio. Achieving a Black Belt and beyond takes several years of training and is a major accomplishment for children and adults alike. This particular group had four students who originally started in the Karatatot¨ program (age 4).
The following students successfully completed the exam: Albertson: Mark Calder; Garden City Park: Kevin Cordova and Richey Sekula; Mineola: Sean Thompson and Rob Napoli, Laura Gauto, Dean Travisano, Matthew Russo; New Hyde Park: Chris DiCicco, Greg Lum and Alison Ahrens to Black Belt; Manhasset Hills: Russ Marshak and Evan Marshak; Old Westbury: Dustin Stein; Williston Park: Fred Kaestal.
Students receiving their 2nd degree Black Belt were: a minimum of two years training after Black Belt: Mineola: Sean Thompson.
