Last night I would not have bet a nickel that we would play golf today, but it was a beautiful, sunny day today and we played a Scramble tournament. This was a make-up tournament for one that was rained out in early June.
The winning team shot an even par 30 and the second place team shot a 31. The winners were Ken Hymes, Ralph Guadagno, Bob Ross and Bob Evans. Second place team was Ted Marukawa, Frank Orlando, John Pellegrino and Mike Guerriero.
Longest Drive: Ralph Guadagno
Closest to the Pin: Ken Hymes
Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 13 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 14 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.
Note: They will probably have room for a few more golfers for this season. If interested in joining the league, call Lou Neumann at 681-2056 for more information.
