Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services, Inc. has accepted an offer to man a food concession tent, with volunteers, at the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage State Park's Black Course from June 15 through June 21. The agency will be compensated for each six to seven hour shifts a volunteer works to make this a major fundraising event for Central Nassau programs and services.
Each volunteer will receive admittance to the Open on the day they are working, free offsite parking, free food at the concession and a uniform golf shirt with Central Nassau's logo.
Volunteers can wander the golf course before or after their shift.
Central Nassau's tent will be located on the 14th Fairway and volunteers will be required to prepare and serve food as well as operate a cash register. Volunteers must be16 and older and will be asked to attend one, 90-minute training session prior to the Open.
Training sessions will take place May 19, 20 and 21 at SUNY Farmingdale from 8 to 9:30 a.m., noon to 1:30 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. At the aforementioned training sessions, Open officials will provide information on parking, the check in process, tent locations, concession stand operations, cash register, etc. U.S. Open parking passes will also be distributed.

Monday, June 15: noon to 7 p.m.
Tuesday, June 16: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.; noon to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, June 17: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and noon to 7 p.m.
Thursday, June 18: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and noon to 7 p.m.
Friday, June 19: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and noon to close.
