The Hicksville Boys and Girls Club has an exciting opportunity for golf fans ages 16 and up. Anyone willing to volunteer for an eight-hour shift at the club's concession stand during the 2009 U.S. Open will receive complimentary parking, event credentials and a free meal. Volunteers will be able to come early or stay late the day of their shift to watch the Open.

The 2009 US Open will be held at the Bethpage State Park Black Course from June 15-21. Four to six volunteers are needed for each of 21 shifts at the Hicksville Boys and Girls Club's concession stand along the seventh fairway. Volunteer shifts are as follows: 6 a.m.-2 p.m.; 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; and noon to closing. Each volunteer is required to attend a 90-minute training session at SUNY Farmingdale at 8 a.m., 12 p.m. or 7 p.m. May 19, May 20 or May 21.

Those interested may register individually or in groups. For further information or to register for a training session and volunteer for a US Open concession shift, contact Tom Bruno of the Hicksville Boys and Girls Club at 822-KIDS or Logo
